I didn't even know Styx was pro-abortion.
He really needs to stop calling himself a libertarian. There is the occaisional libertarian who isn't anti-abortion, but they'll almost always outright concede that you're killing a human life and just make some sort of justifiable homicide argument. Still, that's not what Styx did here. He should just start calling himself a "independent America firster" or a "Constitutionalist" or some other meaningless bullshit. It's not like it matters, he's changed his "ideology" before and he's not been particularly commited to libertarianism for some time, if he ever really was. I think Styx is smart enough to know that his audience is primarily MAGA boomers, and they have mixed feelings on libertarianism anyway.
A lot of people here have called Styx a grifter, and while I think he is, I do think he does still believe a good amount of the things he says. I think he does believe what he said in this video, and I think he does know that his audience mostly won't agree. I think what he didn't know was what the response would be. Judging by the comment he left, I think Styx knows that his audience can't handle opinions different than theirs and he's in denial about that. Styx finds himself in the position every political YouTuber and podcaster eventually will. He has a sizable, commited, and supportive audience who just want to hear their own opinions repeated back to them. If they hear too many opinions that are not their own, they'll stop being loyal. Styx knows this, and I think he's disturbed by it.
In short, Styx is a grifter, but he's a reluctant grifter.
