If there is even a modicum of truth in his recent suicidal rant, his best chance at survival is having the judge pull his bail, black bag him without a chance for him to act on it, get him into the jail and set up with a social worker who will begin the mandatory treatment.... As part of a severe probation sentence. If he is to do hard time I think he'll find a way to end it all, but if he can avoid prison and fully block Sam and booze, he can potentially recover. Maybe even return to Christianity as a Bartolo Longo type.
