He only pays out of legal obligation. He can feel however he wants, but feelings aren't actions. If he felt anything for his kid he'd shut his mouth, take off the cosplay, move out of Mommy and Daddy's house and be present and active in her life. He's an idea styx: instead of giving $800 a month to a slag you can't shag, save up for some plane tickets and visit your child.

I think it's about attention, period. He seems to compulsively buck societal norms for the sake of being edgy and to get eyes on him. As a few of his entourage have attested prior, telling Sticky Nuts not to do something will get him to do it faster than telling to do something ever will.

If I may hop on the armchair for a moment, a lot of Tard's habits could easily be attributed to neglect as a child. The attention-seeking, the pursuit of unstable and vulnerable sexual partners, the drinking, the narcissistic delusions - all of it could be to compensate for feelings of inferiority. If not neglect from his parents, then my next guess is bullying or ostracization from his peers.

Doesn't change what a faggot he is, of course. He should stop asking his imaginary demon friend for help and actually do some introspection. But it's easier to drown those thoughts with booze and distract himself with magic nonsense.

EDIT: Adding to this, consider other things like his continued presence in this thread, which exists primarily to mock him and document his life's decline, or his preference to be a "pleaser" to women in the bedroom. And, of course, the ways in which he chooses to visually present himself to the world.

A podcast for what though? So that Styx can get some high quality sleep? Ralph will be sitting in silence most of the time, only managing a half-hearted hollar every 40 minutes and Grace's dad will be too busy molesting his daughter. Replace Moe Lester with Fatrick though and truly we would see comedy gold. It'll be what LOLcow Live was supposed to be.
