With such obvious symptoms, why wouldn't he accept he has a severe problem and try to stop drinking? What is the point in him being a drunk? It's pathetic, sad and pointless

Because people at that stage are usually FAR beyond saving, and if they do ever realize the gravity of the situation, they're throwing up blood in a hospital praying for the pain to end, and wishing they would have done things a little bit different.

I think it was less the topic choice and more the non-sequitur nature of the "hahahaha waxing moon" post. You're also posting in a den of vipers about the topic of yourself, not something many would do in their right mind.

If people think that you're a drunk but you actually do get sober, it means you can't get away with erratic action or speech for a while; people will attribute all that to boozing.

As far as I am concerned, Retarl could be as sober as a [pre-Soros] judge and still be adjudged functionally drunk. He will never get past his squalid behavior. The best he could do would be to play on our love of a good redemption story, and even then he'd be like the My Pillow guy—reformed, but still untouchable.

It seems really self-absorbed that you'd only do good if you can get praise from it from strangers. Perhaps, instead, you should try to redeem yourself and do better, if not for anyone else, for the daughter you claim to care about and is growing up without a father by your own choice. If you really cared about her, you'd not want to be an absent, ridiculous father who might go to prison soon.
