As optimistic as that is, treatment only works if the addict is actually READY to make the changes necessary, and WILLING to put in the vast amount of work that goes along with recovery. Going through the motions is just a colossal waste of everyone's time and money if they're just doing it because someone else told them to. The most successful recoveries begin when the person wants to end the misery of addiction, and is willing to put it as much effort as they put in their addiction in to recovery and maintaining it.

There's a difference between not using, and being sober. Sobriety is a state of mind and being, whereas abstinence is merely white-knuckling through life wishing you could use, but just not using. From what I've seen, that fucktard anal-flap isn't anywhere NEAR ready to begin recovery, and most likely just thinks that this will get the fuzz off his back. He's proven this through countless relapses that are extremely common in abstinence with zero willingness to actually accept a sober way of life. Best case is he learns a few tools to assist him once he's out, and starts attending AA/NA meetings, but that's extremely wishful thinking.

Who knows, but I even doubt he's headed there as indigent as he and his loser family is.

Great points. If I read Tarl right, AA would be a religious substitute and a "psyop" to be laughed off, since he's far too superior to be taken in by it.

Of course I hope he is more intelligent than he's seemed and that he would thoroughly use this opportunity for his own betterment.

She is being very kind through text. She may not want me in the house because she can't lie to my face. I have no idea what's going on. I believed the seizure bit until I spoke with Mel. She didn't seem concerned at all. Given their strong emotional bond, I couldn't imagine her and momma Warwick not being more upset. Now we see it was all a vicious ruse. Good thing a pirate has a wench at every port!

Out of all this, I can't believe a person could be more angry at being bopped in the chops than continually persecuted to the point where they have to run from the law because they're facing 16 years in prison. I'd rather take it on the chin than from Bubba in the rim!
