Despite being the biggest speedrunning event, GDQ has always been lacking in female runners. It isn't that they don't exist because other events have them. Actual women, at that, not any troons. For an event that promotes inclusivity, there's a severe lack of women. (troon women are not women)
I can't really think of a reason why that is. In the past, I heard all of one person mention they didn't feel safe going to a GDQ, but even if there were other runners who felt that way, the last couple of events have all been digital. I don't think it's GDQ denying them because they love diversity and host their own smaller version of GDQ exclusively for women and "women".
Might be a scheduling thing? I don't think it's a stretch to say a lot of the big speedrunners are guys, and they'd presumably get the primetime slots. Could be they're getting accepted but give a "thanks but no thanks" when they're assigned a 3 am timeslot in the middle of the week. I wish it was something more malicious because that'd be infinitely more interesting, but it's probably something fairly benign.
