Just saying, In the USA, is it actually possible now to just walk in a store and buy a PS5 without any online shit? I can easily go in a walmart or gamestop and they'll have Xbox Series S/X units on sell and I see the X units get sold fairly quickly, Hell some stores fucking have a display PS5 unit but not willing to just put PS5s on shelves and instead make people fight over online bullshit.
I have never seen a PS5 on a store shelf, digital or physical. The only PS5s I've seen in real life are the ones at Walmart behind display glass, which are probably just display shells.

I have only seen Xbox Series X consoles one time, at Costco, last month.

And while we're on the subject, I haven't seen a PS4 on shelves since before the pandemic.

They're a rather frequent sight in stores now but YMMV depending on where you live

Playstation Direct has them in stock with the God of War Bundle.

Wasn't EA desperately trying to sell itself to anyone who might take it not too long ago? Maybe Sony should've bought them out instead of Bungie if they wanted to not lose access to big tent shootan franchises.
Forget everything the idiot Moira said. Basically, Sony couldn't afford EA. EA is one of the largest companies in gaming, and the largest outside of the console makers and Tencent. Sony couldn't afford to spend the untold billions it would take to consume the whole thing. That's why EA are seeking buyouts among massive conglomerates such as Disney and Amazon; because they are the only ones who can afford it.

Make battlefield great again? You'd have to harken back to the original 1942 and how it did things differently (grander scale, ease of use) even back then, it was full of jank. Like most things, the solution involves deleting EA and hanging every one of their executives alongside the Via Apia.
actually I can't blame EA in this case. dice sweden was full of retarded assholes long before EA took over, just look what happened with desert combat. and even after that you still had people like demize and and mr "just don't buy it" (can't be arsed to look up the name).

besides that the argument never made much sense to me anyway, battlefield 1 also happened under EA, and it's probably one of the best battlefields dice has ever done (even if someone doesn't like the gameplay and setting, technically and artistically they nailed it).

people just give dice a lot of leeway since they (usually) deliver, so even with all the crap they pull the good outweighs the bad (or when someone fixes their retarded shit and people credit it to those retarded swecucks, like the whole of bf4's post launch support which was done by dice LA and visceral)

I still haven't played the second Judgement as RGG did put it behind Denuvo and i don't like paying for things.
to be fair, sega tends to takes care of their PC ports, and they're are usually reasonably priced (not $60 bucks for a years old switch rpg squeenix style).
so you could wait a bit and then grab a key for cheap from a reseller and see if that fixes (some of) the issues.

for example judgment released for 40 bucks, and is currently below 30. next years it's probably below 20, if not lower.

>two years after this knitted Sack Boy spinoff game came out for the PS5
>now it’s forgotten

Even if it’s a short time, I still miss this adorable sack like you can’t believe (:_(

LBP was the legit reason why one wanted a PS3 in the first place. It was Minecraft before Minecraft existed.
That basically proves that Sony does not preserve its franchises. Wait ten years from now, you think Horizon: Zero Dawn will still be relevant? Sony could've had a competitor with Minecraft if they played their cards right.

Judgment goes as low as $16 on Xbox Series now

And since Battlefront 3 probably won't be happening (again...), both DICE studios will probably be free to fully collaborate on the next Battlefield installment.

ironically horizon was never really relevant, as much as sony tries to push aloy and make it a sony mascot.

to be fair, the xbox release was april 2021, it only came out on pc a little over two months ago.
and even with the cheaper price you're still dealing with console limitations and better hope they port it in the future if you wanna play it (again).

last I've heard zampella took over dice LA and renamed it ripple effect, and is now in charge of the franchise instead of dice sweden: https://www.windowscentral.com/respawn-head-vince-zampella-now-leading-battlefield-franchise

so in a reversal of roles dice sweden is now the support studio instead of LA, gonna have to wait and see how this checks out.
also noticed while looking that up dice sweden runs the development of frostbite, so I'm not surprised other studios had issues with it given the "blue pissfilter means artistic integrity, you're not allowed to remove it" devs (granted, those studios being bioware and bioware-in-name-only didn't help either). iirc ubisoft has like half of their engines done by a separate entity, I assume that's why you hear a lot less whining about them.

With LBP? The games are nothing alike. Now with Dreams... I don't know. I would say its more of a Roblox competitor to a Minecraft one. Still a good thing to have around, not sure why nothing great ever came out of it.

Ubisoft is not retarded and thus will use whatever engine works best instead of forcing every studio to use the same one regardless of suit.

Well, okay, Ubisoft is retarded but not in that way.

I thought Ubisoft was starting to roll out Snowdrop internally? That's another Swedish engine btw.

I didn't make that up, it's existed for months

All I said was the arcades I visited had older ones but it probably wasn't the norm which was why I brought up the Super Mario Arcade Machine.
Please modern naughty dog do not touch Jak and Daxter. The trilogy was fine as it was you'll only ruin it.

I think the difference is EA only has frostbite, while ubisoft has 4.
but that argument never made sense imo, first if you can do fucking fifa in frostbite, anything else should be easy. second unreal is a "fps engine" too, yet works almost everywhere.

most likely it was mismanagement and being cheap. competent people usually are worth their money, and engine is something you can't really cheapen out or diversity hire for. and then you need to also plan for dedicated support for other studios if you want them to use it.

maybe, but snowdrop is mostly limited to massive (they did some other games on it, but nothing big). the rest is more or less done in canada, which I assume has a lot of overlap to make it cheaper, while making it easier for the other studios to just use what they're already used to. they also beefed up the anvil or whatever they used in the meantime, as much as breakpoint flopped it still got quite a bit of technical post-launch support, like vulkan.

Have you actually seen, not played, seen, any of the recent FIFA games? They're horrible. Technical messes, the lot of them. Only that shitty soccer game from Konami whose name currently escapes me is worse.
You just mentioned all the soccer games that exists and FIFA came out on top.

What's the primary demographic of Playstation (which Dreams is exclusive to)? Soyboys. And soyboys aren't that good at making compelling original games.

pro evolution? think they changed the name tho. as for fifa, wasn't that the case even before they changed to frostbite?

what I haven't seen is the devs whining about it, and neither did visceral. only when the devs suck it's suddenly the engine's fault (remember, simply implementing a third person camera took bioware months. meanwhile that was in bf3 years prior).

Woke people have zero desire to go to Tiburon, that is beneath them, instead they went to Bioware to queer things up. BW devs complained that there was no pre-made inventory system in Frostbite which was a clear sign that it was not suitable for an RPG. What the fuck. I have not checked so I can't back it up but I am certain that a lot of those morons came directly out of GameDev College.

The FTC isn't going to investigate shit. If they do, it'll be the biggest load of horseshit I have EVER seen, considering they sat on their hands while Disney was buying movie studios left and right.
