What about their mom that have to fork out the cash? You have to factor in the huge amount of teens that buy into this shit but have no money on their own.It really depends on the person.

It starts way earlier than that. You have nine year olds who want high end components and vanity parts because they get advertised on streamer channels. Not that they need them, since the most they'll wind up doing is running Gachalife, fortnite, or minecraft. What about their mom that have to fork out the cash? That doesn't make it okay or reflect on the typical consumer. It starts way earlier than that. Some parents will without question shell out the cash for a build like that. It's why stuff like headsets can run up to 300-400 dollars and feature LED lights, cat ears, and other shit that don't help performance. And this is on top on already having a smartphone or ipad.
It's no different than kids wanting brand name clothes or other shit because it's popular or fashionable. It's just there's a large layer of practicality behind these devices other than fashion that they're probably not going to utilize.
There's a whole market of low end imitators that exist for shit like this.
Yes, I know mothers like that. Their kids want the RGB keyboard, they get the cheap one, they want the RGB 1000 click mouse, they get the cheap one, and they are happy! They want... they're not going to get some outrageously expensive Sony monitor. Guess how the GPU/CPU/RAM inflation affected them? They didn't fork up big bucks for a 3060 at thrice it's price. It starts way earlier than that. They're priced similarly to other gaming components. Samsung makes gaming monitors that cost a couple grand.Yes, I know mothers like that. Well to counter that, how well is Bravia doing? They're priced similarly to other gaming components. Samsung makes gaming monitors that cost a couple grand.
There's budget options for the headsets but I think with Bravia already serving the purpose of budget screens, is why you're only seeing the higher end models under the in zone brand. Them pushing inzone on evo means it could make it appeal to a few demographics, and if it works and gains wide appeal there might be more affordable options offered later on.
Well I went looking for some numbers and their TV business is massive.Well to counter that, how well is Bravia doing?
Second thing, moms aren't going to spend that money when [child] gets a hard price limit on what they can get.
Third thing, maybe they could market them as high-end prestige monitors. But beef wellington, despite its price and quality, doesn't generate the revenue of onion rings and french fries. I don't think Sony is in the Eizo position ready to sell monitors to gamers or something like that.
Sony is getting into a niche high-end market when they should focus on other things.
It is the world's largest player in the premium TV market for a television of at least 55 inches (140 centimeters) with a price higher than $2,500 as well as second largest TV brand by market share and, as of 2020, the third largest television manufacturer in the world by annual sales figures.[14][15][16][17]
I wouldn't say Moira is good example of this at all, but at the very least he attempts to be someone who thinks differently from most posters here and discusses topics from another point of view, so this place doesn't delve into too much of an echo chamber (not like it's a big problem here, but it can be with other threads on the forum) and he unintentionally incentivises posters to do proper fact checking when making claims, even though most of the time it's to one-up him or call him out on bullshit statements, at least we're not making random shit up.Sometimes I don't know if this is the Sony hate thread or the Sony trial thread and Marissa Moira has been taking time out for over a year now while on Sony's defense team to argue with people on the internet to defend their clients honor.
I get what you are saying and I do relate as I think the biggest problems with this sub-forum and other sub-forums is the threads become echo chambers. For example, I don’t bother with the Apex Legends thread because I always get downvoted when I’m not entirely critical of the game. The Reddit mentality exists here in Games.I wouldn't say Moira is good example of this at all, but at the very least he attempts to be someone who thinks differently from most posters here and discusses topics from another point of view, so this place doesn't delve into too much of an echo chamber (not like it's a big problem here, but it can be with other threads on the forum) and he unintentionally incentivises posters to do proper fact checking when making claims, even though most of the time it's to one-up him or call him out on bullshit statements, at least we're not making random shit up.
Calling me a bad faith actor is really pushing itThere have been posters making up nonsense to fuel the Sony hate and for the most part people contradict them or don’t bother with their posts. When it comes to our resident diehard Sony Sister, they have come in here and essentially argued against the laws of physics like a schizo and have been downright condescending when proven wrong. He has completely taken the thread off the rails and has been bad faith actor the entire time.
@ellroy you may not realize it, but a ton of stuff I post here is in not in total seriousness and I have played things up with specific members because we're part of the same chat chains. It's not in bad faith, it's people just shooting the shit.
Nah, if it were the same energy it would be able to match the 969th highest summit in Massachusetts.Chris Chan - 'You've Been Trolled'.mp4
^same energy
Damn, dude, you're right. We got epically trolled. You won, you can leave now.Calling me a bad faith actor is really pushing it

It warms my heart to see a rumored God of War Ragnarok delay being given the same autistic screeching chorus that a Zelda delay does. It's okay guys, PS5 will finally have a hit on the charts when GTA VI releases.
The launch edition (what's known as Fat PS3's) were fully backwards compatible at the time with PS1 and PS2. The Slims were not because they had to cost cut heavily due to the bad launch.I’ll never forgive Sony for not making the original PS3 backwards compatible. As far as I know, there are versions that are backwards compatible, but I’m not sure which.
