They're only doing PC ports as a means of penetrating markets and demographics that don't usually buy playstation so that they eventually buy a playstation. It's why they're funding movies and TV series that essentially act as big game advertisements. They're not porting to treat PC as an equal platform, so everything is just going to be a sampling of what they offer.

Their whole thing is IP growth and establishing these different IPs as large brands. It's basically the same logic behind having a cartoon to promote a toyline. It's just that games are a bit more high end than a $10 figure, so you get the first installment is on the PC and if you want more then you have to get the playstation hardware.
I agree 100% with what you are saying, just with VR the smart move would be to treat PSVR 2 as its own platform rather than just a PS5 add on with how niche the market is but sony won't do that for sure.

But to add one more thing, another reason sony is porting games to pc is due to those games pretty much maximising their sales on PS4 and having a late pc port won't have any impact on consoles sales.

Soooooooooooooooooo Sony just bought Bungie for 3.6 Billon.

Is Destiny worth that, or are they just getting a decent FPS studio?

The most recent Halo game was pretty good and while I personally don't enjoy Destiny or think it's good the series is extremely popular and people who are into it are very loyal and active.

Why does he always have to be a cuck?

If anything now we know sony's entertainment division is well off at the moment, being able to just dump billions into a waste developer that hasn't made anything worthwhile in decades.

Destiny has good feedback from guns but that's about it. They haven't been able to develop a compelling encounter in Destiny outside of Raids for the almost 10 years they've been making the games. The closest they got was The Menagerie but then they completely fucked up that activity.

It's been awhile since I played Destiny but the most fun I had playing it was probably the Raids. Had excellent gunplay but man did the story suck ass. One of the most expensive games ever made turned out to be a disappointment. Not horrible but shit, what went wrong? I didn't even bother with the sequel.

Sony Q3 Earnings Call they had said they expect to launch 10 live by service games by March 2026, this comes across as overkill and will in all likelihood take resources away from singleplayer which could never make the profit a GAAS game could potentially make but at the same time are less likely to be a flop.
My guess on what they are
1. Destiny 3
2. Bungie new ip
3. ND multiplayer project rumoured to be Last of Us based
5. Twisted Mental reboot
6. Deviation Games new ip (ex CoD devs)
7. Haven Entertainment Studios new game (Jade Raymond new devs studio)

I have no idea what the others could be, had to guess would say more external partnerships and could see Sony trying to make a GAAS fighting game with them now owning EVO. But it seems very likely they could run into the Ubisoft issue where they only have 2 or 3 somewhat hits but never a huge one and the rest just cannibalise on each other with people stopping caring about most of their output. Case in point did you know Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction came out this month, or have you ever heard of Hyper Scape before Ubisoft announced it would be closing down less than 2 years since it came out?

Also in the Earning Call, they lowed the predicted amount of PS5 sales, but that is just because of the hard time getting the things made to meet the demand rather than a lack of demand.

PS2 & PSP was peek Sony.
Also, fuck Tranny of War because it's overrated trash full of button mashing.
Can't disagree with PS2 being peak Sony. My favourite games are 3d platformers and jrpgs which the PS2 was godly for those. PS2 lineup was overall really good, got over the janky of the ps1 gen but still had the shorter dev times and dev costs.

Have to somewhat disagree with the PSP however, the thumb nub was awful, made worse with only having one of them and the umd disc themself were also poorly made, The game lineup was great however Sony started to drop the ball during the middle of its life span.

That little POS thumbstick nub was fucking awful if you were playing a 3D game like Crisis Core or God of War. Of course Sony fixed that issue by putting two actual thumbsticks on the Vita but by the time that came out no one cared anymore.
