The real crime is they're making Freya wear shoes in this one.I'll take fat thor over abby any day.
Santa Monica also hired Alanah Pierce as a writer too (and yet she continues to be a Twitch thot and make YT videos)....
burch working on GOW has been known for a while tho, and doesn't have to mean anything really...

the more I see about it the more it screams "we want the TLOU2 audience".![]()
Nah this is the last viking installment and the next are supposedly going to take place in Middle East and Egypt. So those are not just pointless diversity inclusions. Honestly we have not had a game cover Zoroaster and such. It will probably touch upon old testament and egyptian gods because that's more exciting, but the brown girl is probably a Nephilim which were also a race of giants. They're going to tie the Greek Pantheon into the Norse one in terms of how shit works in the world so there's going to be expanded lore.Santa Monica also hired Alanah Pierce as a writer too (and yet she continues to be a Twitch thot and make YT videos).
GoW 2 is going to be shit but I have to admit that I wasn't expecting them to add a vikang. I guess they had to, since the previous game was a success.
Doesn't exist to begin with.the more I see about it the more it screams "we want the TLOU2 audience".![]()
Not only that all the women look like actual women.Doesn't exist to begin with.
Angrboda is the last of the giants and is maybe possibly a Nephilim because we're going to Middle East/Egypt Next, according to the interview Ragnarok is the conclusion of the Norse arc. It makes sense why she would have darker skin.
She's also the bringer of grief and if they're sticking to traditional norse mythology, that's going to be pretty funny.
If they're going Egypt next they absolutely would be the retards that thought Ancient Egyptians were black. There isn't any middle eastern decorations that I can see on her so if you could point that out, it'd be nice. She's definitely not black, though the jewlery she's wearing is middle eastern decos.
Considering that the trailer has centaurs and other enemies from the original games, we're going to get more than few callbacks to the Greek games.
Dreads are from Greece that's not something that originated in Africa. If they're going Egypt next they absolutely would be the retards that thought Ancient Egyptians were black. There isn't any middle eastern decorations that I can see on her so if you could point that out, it'd be nice.
And she is absolutely supposed to be black. She has a flat large nose and dreads. Even if she is supposed to be the bringer of grief, they're gonna try to subvert it and make it that she's actually about overcoming grief or some shit.
Doesn't matter where dreads came from, they belong to black people now. These people won't go against that even by historical context which they've already played loose enough with.Dreads are from Greece that's not something that originated in Africa.
What really sticks out to me is her hair ornament, that's not a norse design by any means. Usually norse hair decorations were clasps or hair loops but they didn't jut out like that. Also it's made out of gold where as most norse stuff is traditionally iron or silver.

Her necklace is very similarly styled to Assyrian jewelry. She's definitely more middle eastern in many of style accents. There's also Hieroglyphs when they find Tyr,
I don't know, if they're going as far to include red head thor, it's sounding like they definitely did some research for character designs. Those viking necklaces are not made out of the same types of gemstones, she's clearly got a chunk of lapis lazuli on her's. I think the red stones are also Jasper which would be another thing that would be out of place.Doesn't matter where dreads came from, they belong to black people now. And nah, her necklace isn't anything like Assyrian. It's Viking. It's not gold either, it's Silver-Gilt.

Her hair ornament I can't find anything in Middle East, Ancient Egypt or Norse mythology so they're probably being gaudy just because. The braiding of her hair with metal is a Viking trait, though.
It's not lapis lazuli it's more likely to be blue jasper. They all look like various forms of jasper. I can't find anything describing Angrboda's appearance, but I doubt the Germanic people would incorporate black folk into their myths since they clearly incorporated their appearance into Thor who was their Hercules.I don't know if they're going as far to include red head thor, it's sounding like they definitely did some research for character designs. I mean her looking out of place and being the last of the giants will more than likely tie into other cultures that also have giants. Because you had the foreshadowing of the 3 Wise Men from GOW3 and it's still looking like they're going down that route for the conclusion.
I don't think they'd blow their load on egypt until a few games into the new set of games tbh, but if they were to do actual historical KANGZ it would probably be nubia first, because one of the new spells is that they summon an ibex for assistance. Ibex are located all over the middle east and parts of africa, and they would get to nubia before getting to egypt if that is indeed the end goal. It's not lapis lazuli it's more likely to be blue jasper. I'm only arguing that she is absolutely supposed to be black, that if they do Ancient Egypt it's gonna be kangz and that dreads are solely a black people thing now. Anyone else wearing them gets in trouble for it because history and context do not matter and all these developers know is the twitter ecosystem.
EDIT: It could also be agates and jasper.
EDIT: If the Germanic people did have her be a black person, it was more likely as a black creature witch kind of person in her true form as she was considered a shapeshifter like Loki was if I'm not mistaken.
You're way too optimistic. They hired Anthony Burch as a writer and their other writer seems to be some kind of crippled low content spic breed. I feel like you're only defending this because it's a Sony studio.I don't think they'd blow their load on egypt until a few games into the new set of games tbh, but if they were to do actual historical KANGZ it would probably be nubia first, because one of the new spells is that they summon an ibex for assistance. I'm pretty sure she's not just there for diversity and she looks the way she does due to an actual story narrative.
Actually it was GOW2.Because you had the foreshadowing of the 3 Wise Men from GOW3 and it's still looking like they're going down that route for the conclusion.
Of course that's why he's defending it. Look back through his post history in this thread. All he's done in it is defend Sony... in a thread about shitting on them.I feel like you're only defending this because it's a Sony studio.
Compared to Microsoft and even Nintendo, Sony does very little with their back catalog. And they probably don't even think about the first party games that came from Japan. Those might as well not exist. So PS5 really has no first-party games for the rest of the year, I get covid delays and such but Sony really should have had more games in the works anyway. Hell could have outsourced HD remasters and remakes, which wouldn't take up any resources from first parties.
Using the anniversary of different series to get stuff on PC, wouldn't be a bad move.
In 2021 they could have done some of the following
PaRappa the Rapper: Turned 25 this year, could do HD remasters for the other games or even port the remaster of the first to PC
Dark Cloud: 20 this year, no remasters to replace those sub par emulation. A remake of the first would have been a good thing as well
Ico: 20th, has an HD remaster which is PS3 only
Jak: Not on PC at all, could have done a remake of the first game or even a good remaster with a true widescreen (widescreen in the others are cropped) and some graphical improvements for PS5/PC
Resistance: A HD collection in the style of the Uncharted one. A PS4/PS5/PC release could have done really well.
Lemmings: Yeah Sony own it and it turns 30 this year. And no Lemming games on the PS4 at all.
In 2022 they could do some of the following
I.Q.: Intelligent Qube: Crazy puzzle games which is something sony is lacking, also a was a second game that skipped America.
Wild Arms: Turns 25, been a while since Sony put out a JRPG, well-liked series.
Ratchet: Not a dead series, but all the other games are stuck on dead consoles.
Sly Cooper: Hasn't had a new game since 2012, porting the games to ps4/5/pc would be good, or they could do a remake of the first three much like what was done for Crash and Spyro.
Folklore: The game looks pretty good still, a simple HD remaster could do well. More niche games have got late PC ports and have done well.
Tokyo Jungle: One of Sony's best games, redo some of the models and textures. Put it on PS4/PS5 and PC, got yourself a hit.
Folklore could benefit greatly from higher resolutions.Folklore: The game looks pretty good still, a simple HD remaster could do well. More niche games have got late PC ports and have done well.
Not that I want to rain on your parade, but SIE made obvious it only cares for big-budget AAA productions meant for global success on the PS5, and that mentality probably applies as well for the PC ports. I do wish for PC ports of Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice Delta and Bloodborne but that would force either way SIE to acknowledge Japan Studio ever existed. So PS5 really has no first-party games for the rest of the year, I get covid delays and such but Sony really should have had more games in the works anyway. Oh my God, if they released Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice Delta on PC I'd be so happy. Not that I want to rain on your parade, but SIE made obvious it only cares for big-budget AAA productions meant for global success on the PS5, and that mentality probably applies as well for the PC ports. We're old men who grew up with the old Playstation of the 90s-00s, that had tons of janky & fun games, and which has been entirely replaced by the californian/hollywood Playstation
