I just realized that a lot of normie Marvel fans are going to buy the Insomniac Wolverine game sight-unseen and will be disappointed to discover that the character doesn't look or sound like Hugh Jackman. Imagine how much more expensive the game's license would have been if that had been the case. Another reason why the old X-Men Origins game mogs the new one.

Is it just me or are the X-Men character designs clashing with the game's photorealistic art style? The proportions for Sabertooth are all wrong, which would be fine if he wasn't so real looking. Logan has the opposite problem because he's way too mundane.

The woke aspect definitely adds to the uncanniness of this game. This is a true and honest Concord-like

That's almost all Western AAA games now, the realism-slop look. It appears mundane because it is the result of a group of corporate mandated, DEI consultancy influenced development with zero original or boundary pushing artistic vision. These are hive-minded drones tasked with making a generic mass market product, it is not the result of a group of exceptionally talented or passionate individuals coming together to create a fun, never before seen experience because it is a cool idea.

What you are witnessing is the result of an industry that became too mainstream, greedy and agenda driven entering its early stages of decay.

Pseudo realism where it's like 70% photorealisc almost never looks good.

If you don't have the talent or technology for photorealism just go with anime, cell shaded, or some other stylized graphics style rather than that weird uncanny half realism.

Cell shaded in particular is a really good choice because it's practically timeless. There are 30 year old games with cell shaded graphics that still look fucking awesome today.

That new commercial just makes me realize even more how Sony’s games don’t appeal to me. I am fine not being the target customer if you’re just going to show off games like that.

Indeed. If I showed this to someone and told them it was from an upcoming indie game, it would be absolutely believable. Nope, it's almost a quarter century old. Shame Capcom never did more with this, Auto Modellista was an absolute gem. If anyone has any interest in it nowadays, play the PAL version that has much better driving physics.
