Been seeing this image posted a bunch on /v/, and if it's real, no wonder he looks so effeminate and uncanny.

The "agenda driven" part is the primary problem here. Nobody expects a modern game with the Marvel license to be some niche, passion-driven project. The previous Wolverine game wasn't either, but at least the people that were making that one understood the assignment, just like the people that made the Deadpool game did, and tried to make a game that did the character justice.
The Deadpool game was such a disappointment. They blew their entire budget on the first level and the voicelines, then the entire rest of the game might as well be a sewer level. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent hack n slash, but it just gets boring after a while, you only play to see the next cutscene or skit. Still better than pretty much any modern capeshit game, tho.
What they're getting instead is Spider-Man 2 with a Wolverine skin, and are expected to pay premium for the privilege of playing it.
Not even that, Insomniac Spider Man games have a few good things going for them. The sandbox, the traversal system(web slinging), the free flowing combat, it does have some appealing parts and these games are genuinely good when compared to most other Spider-Man games. Wolverine doesn't seem to have all that, it will be Spider-Man without the spider powers. Imagine playing Spider-Man 2 but without the free flowing combat or the web, just going full bum mode and beating at the enemy blindly, that's what combat in Wolverine is going to be like. This is a game for nobody, which is surprising because Insomniac have shown that they at least know what modern Spider-Man fans expect and made a game for them, there is nothing here for any Wolverine fan.
X pays you to manufacture drama, so you can't critique Wolverine

I guess that doesn't matter because the only target audience for this game, the game journos, seem to be loving it and it hasn't even come out yet.
Brought to you by the same muppet that gave Spiderman 2 a 9/10 and claimed it was "wonderfully short " and ran at "a stable and cinematic 30 FPS " in a review (Archive) that is absolutely totally 100% authentically not just an unmarked advertisement written by Sony itself.

This guy either is or at least wishes he was an unofficial Sony PR employee.
"Reviews" like this are the only reason why any of these Sony walking simulators have good ratings.

That being said, sure is weird so see someone like this running damage-control for Vulvarine.
Seems like Sony is getting nervous enough about all the shitposting to call in the paid shills.
At this point I don't think this guy is even a shill, he just loves cinematic cape slop. This subhuman would have given the game a 9/10 regardless, the bribe is just icing on top. Looking forward to a 10/10 where the review calls X-Men Origins "outdated" and "immature" to own the chuds.

Cell shaded in particular is a really good choice because it's practically timeless. There are 30 year old games with cell shaded graphics that still look fucking awesome today.
Borderlands (especially 2, and TPS to a lesser extent, ironically because of the art direction being a bit worse and the setting somehow less interesting) is a great example of this. BL2 in particularly looks phenomenal despite its dreary "backwater desert hellhole" setting, in large part because of the cell-shading. It's still expressive, colorful and easy-to-read visually, but it's very distinctive and it holds up well after all these years.

Oh, for the love of Christ. Legendary drops had something to say about the tariffs in his latest video talking about this shit. Can we PLEASE stop fucking blaming the tariffs for price increases on digital products? This is Sony doing this shit to themselves burning all the bridges they had built during the PS4 era. Drumpf has nothing to do with the games industry collapsing in on itself. They increased the prices of their consoles as did Nintendo LONG before Trump's tariffs took effect, but ORANGE MAN BAD, am I right, fellas?

Borderlands isn't actually cel shaded. It has a comic book style with outlines but no actual cel shading. Cel shading is when you apply a threshold to diffuse lighting so you get a stepped look instead of a smooth gradient, mimicking how hand drawn animation looks when you layer cels together

Random image I found of Borderlands, look at the shadowing on the characters (especially Brick's arm), see how its a smooth gradient with multiple shades of shadow

Now compare that to games that actually use cel shading where the shadowed part is a solid color and has a clearly defined line between lit and unlit

There are people selling this crap for 500 dollars on Facebook marketplace. I'm only buying one if its 200 or 250 bucks. Not fucking 500.
No one wants to buy for those prices. That is what I am saying. Also, for the time being, no one wants to sell for less either.

Anyhow, with PC prices being the way they are, is a jailbroken PS5 worth it? I don't play online much so a PS5 with loads of free games doesn't sound bad tbh.
You can try and get one with a low firmware to jailbreak it, but the seller might jack up the price if it is advertised as such.

My favorite is still the Mystique reveal where she somehow has a bigger jawline than the dude she morphed into:
Looks like a 90s Marilyn Manson costume.

This still proves the point that cel shading ages like fine wine because Gravity Rush and Wind Waker look impeccable in HD.

P.S. If you've never played Gravity Rush or its sequel you should, they're some of the last good exclusives Sony ever put out.
