LOL no it wasn't and Metal Gear blows. The PS2 was absolutely worth owning too, although a lot of it's stuff did also come to PC, but not everything (MGS3 Snake Eater for one key example)
Can't think of any other Japanese horror games that gen for the PS3, Wii however had a few they were mostly japan only or came out in the EU as well.Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the only made in Japan horror game to follow the PS2 formula that ever came out or at least the only direct follow up to a PS2 horror game on the PS3, right?
RE5 and RE6 do not count as survival horror, The Evil Within did later come out on PS3 but it was an all new game and was pretty different too, I'm talking survival horror similar to what it was on the PS2 or sequels to PS2 horror games on the PS3, as far as I know Siren Blood Curse is literally the only one, right? Other series like Fatal Frame jumped ship to Nintendo.
That right there is a perfect example of why the PS3 was a massive downgrade over the PS2, all those great horror games on the PS2 and we get a grand total of one on the PS3 with the cherry on top being it's a remake and not even an all new game (though from what I understand it's fairly different than the original)
Forgot about this one, thanks for the reminder.
While I haven't played the full game and it's not a horror title, Folklore is the only Japanese game that I'm aware of on the PS3 that reminds me of something like Rule of Rose.
The PS3 damn near killed the Japanese game development scene though thankfully they did survive, but still in a crippled state thanks to the PS3, thanks Sony.
What's the status of this game in NA? How expensive are copies and can you buy it digitally?
I didn't care about the Killer Instinct reboot because it was one of the first times they stripped the sexy women out of a series, as a very casual fighting game fan I don't care if there's no hot girls, B Orchid was so lame in the reboot = I don't care.
That's just my personal view on the matter, people can feel free to disagree.
Monthly subscriptions for PC already exist for many applications and arguably the platform started it with games when MMos became a thing. With the revitalized Xbox network it's looking like they're going to be bringing Game subscriptions and paid online services to the PC platform as well, of which many people would pay for since Steam's own servers are shit and many devs would be willing to let microsoft handle the back end for them. However Spergs being Spergs, are too retarded to realize that if consoles are so bad just get a fucking PC and fuck the monthly subscriptions anyway as now even PC game platforms are giving away games for free without having to pay for a sub.
All the former devs are either establishing studios that have ties to Sony itself or heading to other sony established studiosatleast they wont turn my girl into a feminist or an tranny.
Yeah im aware that PC game subscriptions have always been on PC.Monthly subscriptions for PC already exist for many applications and arguably the platform started it with games when MMos became a thing. Those PS+ games are tied to the subscription, if you already own them they don't supersede the one you paid for. However I meant that you dont have to pay a monthly subscription to play singleplayer or story driven games on PC like you do with PS+. Which is absolute bullshit. Especially if thats where you got that game you want to play from.
Thats what I mean. Only Sony's PS+ ties games to whether or not you have a sub active all the time. Those PS+ games are tied to the subscription, if you already own them they don't supersede the one you paid for.
They have given out free games that are not tied to any subscription like the Journey+Uncharted Collection, the 10 games that are currently available for Play at Home and Horizon Zero Dawn.
The Games with Gold works the same way as do nintendo's online game offerings.Thats what I mean. Only Sony's PS+ ties games to whether or not you have a sub active all the time.
Unless something changed, with Xbox One, you NEED the subscription to access those Games with Gold. From the 360, you had the license. With games with gold on xbox it has always been even since its conception during the late 360 era: "you add it to your account once and its yours forever as long as you paid for gold in some capacity that month when the game was being given away even if you stopped paying for gold years ago. and can still play it at least offline."
PS2 and PS3 had free online capability. A massive difference in quality compared to the paid service of Xbox Live. Mind you, I did not like the idea of paying for online during the 360 days. I still find it as an annoyance. It's a standard now, so I accepted it.Its also annoying to hear these retards shill for PS+ and shit on Games with gold on xbox even as far back as the 360 era.
They purposely confuse still having to pay a sub every month "cuz wit xbox u has 2 pay fer da internetz" with xbox where its actually the opposite.
Never thought I'd be nostalgic for console war faggotry but here we are.I'm enjoying all this console war debate, feels like 2006/2007 again.
This isn't true, they're actually the same network infrastructure.Only when adding PS+ with PS4, they became on par with Xbox Live. Even so, Sony's servers aren't as stable as Xbox Live. Remember the PSN hack?

For movie streaming it's a similar deal, Netflix hosts all it's shit on Amazon servers. They have the same network as Prime. The Competition is in bed with the competition.
They're currently running the same backend for everything though. PS3 era was a bit like the wild west for online consoles, the base model launch PS3 didn't even come with wifi.Article explains the use of servers for "cloud streaming."
It also explores the use of said servers to prevent "congestion" of prime time use.
I was referring to servers in the past. The PS3 era.
At this point in time, whether it be consoles or PC, I almost sigh with relief whenever I find out that a franchise has permanently ended. With a very few exceptions, giving them to a new studio has always ended either in mediocrity, or simply utter failure.atleast they wont turn my girl into a feminist or an tranny.
Because Japan doesn't want normal no brand anime golf, japan wants anime golf but with Demon Slayer characters.I see the Clap Handz has released a golf game on iOS that is literally just Hotshots/Everybodys Golf except called "Clap Handz Golf".
That's another traditionally playstation only franchise gone to another platform.
Can you name any specific companies that are like this?Doubly true for big companies, if I remember correctly a huge percentage of Japanese companies are basically zombies being kept alive artificially through some kind of government interference.
Isn't there a conspiracy theory that everything in Japan both business and government is secretly run by Yakuza families? That is correct, the ties between big business and the government are even more strict and corrupted than in the Western Hemisphere. Also, keep in mind that the worst that could happen to someone in authority in Japan is "losing face", even by proxy. So no, I'm afraid Sony will be kept alive until the bitter crash of the industry.
I'm surprised to see anyone dislike Snake Eater, which is one of those games everyone seems to agree is good.LOL no it wasn't and Metal Gear blows.
There were a few more J horror games that gen but I believe they were all entirely on the Wii, the DS or the Wii U/3DS, Siren Blood Burse seems to be literally the only one not on a Nintendo platform during the 7th gen until The Evil Within. Can't think of any other Japanese horror games that gen for the PS3, Wii however had a few they were mostly japan only or came out in the EU as well.
Afrika is retail only, despite being a Sony game Natsume put it out in America. It seems rare but looks to still be sub $100.
I'm surprised too, because people did take the whole Wii vs 360 vs PS3 shit way too seriously and it was oftentimes cringey, but it still brings back memories because it's been a long time since there was a real console war.Never thought I'd be nostalgic for console war faggotry but here we are.
Xbox Live on the original Xbox was pretty popular, wasn't it? At least after Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Halo 2, of course I'm sure it was a fraction of what it was later but still seems a bit silly to call it only a "North American Viking settlements that only lasted 1-2 years before being abandoned"They're currently running the same backend for everything though. PS3 era was a bit like the wild west for online consoles, the base model launch PS3 didn't even come with wifi.
I consider stuff like the Dreamcast and the other earlier attempts at online akin to the North American Viking settlements that only lasted 1-2 years before being abandoned.
