Sorry for the double post, but this is an important bit of news:
The version of S3+K in Sonic Origins is confirmed to be widescreen https://twitter.com/KatieChrz/status/1397972387870642178
if that's the case, does that mean that the version of Sonic 1 and 2 will be the mobile ones that Christian Whitehead made since they were widescreen as well?

If so, then that would be worth it then, considering the mobile versions had other goodies too like Tails & Knuckles in Sonic 1 and Hidden Palace Zone in Sonic 2, and i know everyone has been asking for the mobile games to be on other shit for quite some time. CD was already re-released for PC, so it didn't get locked into mobile oblivion like the other two did.

This also means Sonic3K might get other good shit added to it like the other 2 games did.

and from how realistic that forest looks it seems their going back to the Adventure style. we will probably see humans again.
I'm going to be honest the chances of them going back to the Adventure style or just bringing back humans are pretty slim, it's a nice thing to think about but it's probably not true.

Say what you want about Sonic, he has survived a lot of disasters. He's still going strong. 30 years strong.
Strong is one way to put it.

Sonic Colors was alright. But after the first couple levels (aka the ones demoed at trade shows) the quality dropped. Not sure how strong it is when Sonic's best showing lately has been Super Smash Bros.

Unpopular Opinion but I never liked Sonic Colors. Sonic felt so stiff in that game, and it was especially noticeable in the 2D segments. I also didn't like the Wisps, and still don't. Their inclusion in Sonic Lost World made NO sense to me whatsoever.

I mostly agree. It is the best of bad Sonic games. The worst good Sonic game was Generations.

And the second best Sonic game is Spinball. Fight me.

agree. i do think SA1 is right behind S3&K, followed by Sonic 2, Unleashed and Adventure 2. the handhield games are also very underrated.
Argh!! My kingdom for a gas chamber!

Alright boys, whip out your lists and let's settle this. It's time for ScrewAttack's Top Five Sonic Games of All Time:
  1. Sonic 3 & Knuckles
  2. Sonic Spinball
  3. Sonic 1
  4. Sonic 2
  5. Sonic CD
Honorable mention: Sonic R.

Alright you're up, Handsome Tom.
Can any of you still hear the announcer voice?

idk, i think Spinball is an OKayish-good spinoff but not list worthy, i think Sonic 1 can't be better than Sonic 2 due to having the first game syndrom due to how slow and linear stages like Marble or Labyrinth feel and how it relies purely on physics, when later games have moves like the spindash and larger stages, and CD to me is just poorly designed most of the time and can get tedious tbh, but Sonic R is also very underrated. my personal lists imo would be, woudn't put it under the worst 2D games or even the worst classic games, but i think it's very average.
Classic only:
1. Sonic 3 & Knuckles
2. Sonic 2
3. Sonic Triple Trouble
4. Sonic 3D Blast (im serious)
5. Sonic Chaos
Honorable Mentions: Sonic Mania, Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Sonic R
Modern only:
1. Sonic Adventure
2. Sonic Unleashed
3. Sonic Adventure 2
4. Sonic Generations
5. Sonic Rush
Honorable Mentions: Sonic Heroes, Sonic Battle and Sonic Riders
In General:
1. Sonic 3 & Knuckles
2. Sonic Adventure
3. Sonic 2
4. Sonic Unleashed
5. Sonic Adventure 2
Honorable Mentions: Sonic Battle and Sonic Riders

In no order (apart from S3+K obviously)
1) 3+K
2) SA1
3) Unleashed HD
4) Colours
5) Generations

It's okay, Sonic 3 & Knuckles is number one and that is all that matters. You better not be a Sonic Adventure fag.
S&K is the easiest to just pick up and play. I haven't touched it in over a decade, and I could probably still beat it blindfolded. Special stages and all. It's cotton candy.

Sonic 1 is more demanding, and Sonic 2 takes a long time to complete. From a technical standpoint, they're superior. But there's a leisurely pace to 3 which is beguiling. There's a sense of scale to Angel island which the primitive Unity-style engine can't match. SA1 doesn't compare to the timeless sprite work and music of the originals.
Also yeah, Sonic CD is a complete trash fire. But it is a well-oiled trash fire.
It's a bold move which didn't pan out.

You shouldn't have to backtrack in a Sonic game, or really any platformer. Under any circumstance. The time travel is pretty useless, as well, since the Past hides all the secret crap. You're penalized if you go to the Future.

The only two good things from CD is the race against Metal Sonic and the soundtrack. Everything else just felt kind of empty, for some reason.

S3K > Mania > S2 > S1 Master System > S1 Gen

Fuck the 3d sanic games
I don't know why listed "S1 Gen" and didn't put Knuckles Chaotix in it's role, not sure why you didn't include Forces as well then, lol.

If you hate the 3D Sonic games so much then why did you even play Generations lol, btw Classic Sonic in Gens was just alright (unless it's the Improvement mod) and is so basic and nothing that it shouldn't even be on this list lol.

Another Sonic compilation coming out called Sonic Origins.

How many Sonic compilations have released since the original Sonic trilogy? Sonic Jam, Sonic Gems Collection, Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Classic Collection, Sonic (Ultimate) Genesis Collection?
