: That mini series with Tangle and Whisper was kind of a mistake in hindsight, since i think it's what kickstarted the lesbian faggotry between them in the first place and made it nearly impossible to seperate them. They were alot more enjoyable to be around when they were still on their own for the most part and didn't need to rely on one another.
It was bound to happen, considering the kind of writers this comic has. Besides, it has barely anything going on, so the OCs are the ones who can change, in one way or another.
2: Whisper's story too dark for the setting? Eh, same series with an alien hedgehog that witnessed someone he loved getting gunned down in cold blood and later his creator facing his end by a fucking firing squad. It's really not that bad, might even be slightly more tame compared to Shadow's depending on how you see it.
The Shadow story has been softened since that time, and it's been grandfathered by now. We won't get such an edgy story anytime soon, I bet. Even Frontiers retconned its own bittersweet (but actually positive) ending. The IDW comic doesn't know whether it wants to be a comic for children or teenagers, as it swings from cute-looking killer robots to ZOMBIE VIRUS KILLING EVERYONE (not killing, "just" mutating them, but the implications are there), to girls going out to a camping, to EVIL SCIENTIST ENDLESSLY TORTURING TWO TEENAGERS FOR THE LULZ, and so on.
The problem is the writers have to take extra care not to fuck with the status quo at all because of how tied they are to the games, which means everything basically has to go back to exactly how it was by the end of the arc. In other words, no matter how severe the situation is, it won't matter in the end anyway. The ending of Metal Virus was the first clear sign of that in effect.
That's the main issue, the main cast are static and separate from the comic, so you'll have a zombie invasion that is undone and everyone calls it a day, even Cream, woh had her mother "die" in front of her. Meanwhile, the OCs are all riddled with traumas.
Hell, weren't most of the OCs traumatized, orphans or both in one way or another?
Meanwhile, Tails is still a 8 years old who singlehandedly destroyed an army.
But see, it's not only that, but it also has to do with them just sucking at writing in general with the exception of Flynn and Barnes lmao.
Don't hold Flynn in that high regard. He made Sally lesbian.
When Stanley took over for a while, we got many exciting plots such as "the girls go camping and put out a fire"
I thought that was Flynn's idea. I liked how at no point the girls decide to call Sonic, lest they're overshadowed.
In short, the comic is wasting time as it can't do anything on its own.
