You're on the mark. Reboot Archie was a waste of time. They had ~50 issues (not including Sonic Universe) and only managed to rehash Sonic Unleashed and do yet another Megaman crossover. Speaking of Archie Megaman, from what I have read of it, it is simply an inferior rehash of Megaman Megamix/Gigamix.

Off topic, but Skybound's Energon Universe has convinced me IDW's entire 15 year Transformers run was utter rubbish. The "best" comic people point to is a gay star trek fanfiction where characters spend most of the story talking at each other.

After The Metal Virus and it's weak ending (hell even before that) you can basically come to the conclusion there are no real stakes in this comic at all. There's no bite to anything that happens when you know that nothing will happen to anyone since the villains are doing nothing and the world can be threatened multiple times (the Forces like intro of the comic where most of the planet is implied gone, The aforementioned Metal Virus) and then hand waved away or fixed instantly with almost zero consequences.

They technically followed through on it within Shadow the Hedgehog. During the true ending boss fight against Devil Doom, the other characters sometimes chatter in your ear to cheer you on or whatever. If you play the boss fight long enough (longer than it would probably take you to beat it) then Eggman chimes in to basically say "Hey Shadow, you know how I've said some things to make you think you're one of my robots? Well that was complete bullshit. You're the real Shadow that I found after you crashed to Earth and I based my robots off of. Just wanted to let you know."

Unless you mean the Shadow robots never appeared again, cause yeah they just disappeared after that game. We can only assume Shadow blew them all up and Eggman just didn't feel like building more.

Eh. I think they just threw the robot thing into Heroes for some quick mystery and drama they could exploit in the future, but decided they didn't really care and wanted to establish he totally is the real Shadow, and so dropped it as efficiently as they could in the next game.

Probably didn't help that Battle came out the same time as Heroes and has Shadow explicitly being the real one with all his memories. Sega by now with that official timeline have embraced the fan theory that Battle takes place after Shadow 05 so there's no continuity error, but I'm pretty sure in reality the reason that happened was because Battle was made by a separate team in another country who probably wasn't being fully updated on every little plot idea being put into Heroes and were just told Shadow is being brought back so put him in the game.

I watched a Sonic fan server troon out in real time over the span of 3 years. Disturbingly, they were all U21 adult zoomers. There's definitely something going on with the younger gen-z's.

Finally someone said it. I never understood the praise the archie run of MM received at all, it was my introduction to Flynn's writing and told me everything I needed to know about him. Most of the arcs in the run had unnecessary amounts of drama that clashed with the tone of the source material and for some reason he also decided to adapt the game Inafune himself erased from the official timeline as well (Super Adventure Mega Man). Overall, as you put it, it really feels as if he was trying to one up Megamix and quite failed at it. At least archie had the decency to take the series behind the shed and put it out of it's misery after adapting just the first 3 games.

Zoomers suffer from the COVID split. I graduated in 2017 (born 1999) and I am vastly different from the post-COVID Zoomers. They were terminally online during COVID during school. So all their social interactions became nothing but digital and they have endless access to all the online faggotry that plagues the internet. I didn't have endless hours being exposed to it all, plus any sort of "mental problems" that I had, I worked out and didn't become reliant on medication or made it my whole fucking personallity. Reading their fucking bios is just a mind fuck and a half. Faggot flags, mental disorders, furry shit, etc.

Young zoomers are beyond fucked. Us older Z's have a chance still.

I always found it funny how there was an ending in exactly one game where Shadow thought he was a robot and it never came up again, since unless he was built with a bunch of fake flesh and blood, it should be the easiest thing in the fucking world to disprove.

These are the types that invaded fandoms years to indoctrinate the younger generations into carrying on their activism. Planting the seeds in entertainment then claiming what is happening is naturally when it was anything but nature to what is happening. Most folks saw it as incredibly suspicious that is was happening in Sonic of all places but we know good and well that the fandom is kind of screwball as it is. The difference is trying to get folks to pay attention to what was happening around them because all these weird people suddenly talking about idpol with these characters didn't happen over night.

Amnesiatic over 50 year old hedgehog gets told WAY into his adventure that he's a robot cause he found robots that look like him in a game series full of robots that look like other characters and just immediately believes it. Funniest shit ever when you take into account that at the start of his adventure he was contacted by a literal alien that tracked him via his blood signature that was like "BRING ME THE EMERALDS AS WE AGREED OVER 50 YEARS AGO" and then kept telling him to kill humanity through like half the adventure.

I tried to play this on my switch 2 and got sensory overload very quickly, the game is noisy as fuck, and I felt as if someone was rapidly turning a flashlight on and off in front of my face when playing it (the 30fps was probably a big factor in that). It's a lot like Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, which is also extremely noisy and overly colorful.
