Yeah, Old Amy was fun and had energy to her character. Now shes just the stale "Girl character" whose incredibly safe and boring.
It's been brought up and said countless times the last few years since they changed how she acts in the new games (and the US version of the generations port) but the weird sega america narrative is "oh well she was ONLY obsessing over sonic and that was bads and annoying and sexist this is better guys!" completely neglecting like everything else about the character beyond the comedic character flaw of her being an incel. The fact the tarot card thing that was literally just the explanation for how she first ran into sonic has now been inflated to like the only "wow unique!" thing about her is fucking rancid. (which has also been said before countless times). The most baffling thing about the people that hype up modern amy as "fixed" is that a lot of them also seem to really not like the fact she has a big hammer for some reason. I can't remember if that weird thing's been brought up before or not but like I've seen some absolutely deranged statements about her having a hammer somehow meaning something sexist or demeaning or whatever and how she'd be better off without it. I am NOT going to re-watch reviews of sonic games online right now to hunt down the times I've heard them for the specific details but it's wild as hell to me that shit's just this fucked up now.

Amy must be bland because otherwise it's sexism, or something. Funny because she was the only feminine woman of the franchise (other than Sally Acorn perhaps, who no longer exists). Blaze used to be a bit vulnerable, but she got her character development, and no one knows what to do with her anymore. She's like Sonic but better because she has fire powers, can fly, and has her own version of the Emeralds.
Kinda like what happened to Shadow.

Shadow existing and being a good guy is a big problem for Sega cuz it’s basically the classic meme question of why nobody has killed The Joker yet - except it’s ’why has Shadow not killed Robotnik yet’ because I’m pretty sure even if Sonic the Redeemer won’t do it, Shadow would have no qualms about ending the madness and decapitating the bald fuck in the blink of an eye.

So sonic team has to keep coming up with excuses of why Shadow can’t just solve the problem of the day instantly. He’s either busy being mindfucked in cyberspace, a metal goo zombie, fucking around with GUN, or just inexplicably AWOL during every arc.

I mean Sega already had problems before when it came to specific characters still being around.

Knuckles is supposed to be the guardian of the floating island and the master emerald and yet he keeps hanging out with Sonic'n'Tails, so who is guarding the island and master emerald while he's gone? Especially since Rouge was introduced, you know damn well that bitch is going to fuck with his shit on the constant.

That's easy... By pretending that Shadow and Team Dark doesn't exist, because Omega would also gladly kill off Robotnik. The setting is in a dire need of more villains.

For what's worth, Bats has come close to doing it, but he won't commit for obvious reasons. I'm not sure what's the excuse for Jason Todd, who would gladly do that and almost did at times.
But yeah, even throwing Eggman to jail would help a little... Only that GUn is currently dead until confirmed otherwise, and they were the only ones capable of containing him.

By hiding the Emerald. Knucks is also another character that is kinda there too, not much being done with him.

Where did he get the truck during the Metal Virus comics?
What truck? Didn't he have a modified Death Egg literally sneeze the virus into the cities? Either way, he probably got that from the same place where the missing pants humans hang out, as so far not a single humie has been seen because it all happens in Mobian territory, who probably accept no human immigration of any kind, kek. Wait, what about Sage? That one is an AI but clearly human-shaped! The conspiracy deepens...

Are they already showing off every character interaction before the game's even released? Also, did Knuckles' voice actor get changed? He sounds off.
Edit: Same goes for Amy.

Shadow tends to act rather cordial with Eggman whenever they interact, like in Sonic 06. Shadow is even quickly willing to team up with him in the Rivals games. I think Shadow has some friendliness towards Eggman because of their previous times allied and Eggman being a relative of Maria. I don't get the feeling Shadow is eager to snap Eggman's neck like Omega is.

But it also sounds like you're kind of talking about the comics and I wouldn't know a thing about that. I don't read American Sonic comics, they're gay and retarded.

I mean it's not impossible to make a solo knuckles game, just don't make it like 32x Chaotix... and this is coming from someone that likes that game.

He's got the gliding, the digging, the emerald senses... he could easily have a 3d action/adventure game made of him that caters to his strengths. Some beat-em-up elements maybe... some running/jumping parkour action.... the game basically writes itself. Obviously his adventure(s) would have to be stuck on the floating island because what the fuck else is there for him to do outside of the island that Sonic and co aren't already doing?

Fucking Luigi, Peach, and Wario have their own games, so what's stopping Sega from doing that with the rest of the Sonic cast? It's like they are leaving money on the table and giving all their characters wasted potential because they either glue them to Sonic or thanos-snap them away forever (a.k.a. make them unplayable)

That'd just end up with either a shittier replacement villain or a megaman 7 situation where the game is a direct sequelt ot hat plot beat of him being captured from the last game. That'd be neat but I don't think any game company is going to do something like that ever again.

Nigger he's been a good guy since his first fucking appearance . The entire point of SA2 was he let his 50 years of isolation and memory of the feds killing his friend cloud his judgement and make him do shit he'd never do otherwise. It took him witnessing a recording of his creator dying via firing squad and the one weirdly non playable (outside of multiplayer) main cast member of the game to shake sense into him and get him to realize what he was becoming.

Shadow only really ever showed killing intent towards eggman when he had amnesia as far as I remember. The events of sonic adventure 2's final story alone could show a reason as to why this cast of characters don't just fucking kill each other.

They USED to have SOME spinoff games for other characeters like the tails gamegear ones (one of them being a reskinned cancelled mickey game but that's another story) but yeah the lack of them is odd. Hell the lack of a lot of sega's various game series just never seeing the light of day again is a common criticism.

An Arkham Asylum-esque game where Eggman takes over the island prison you take him to at the start of the game could be cool... But Team Sonic is taking things too safe these days. It took until Sonic Frontiers to let non-Sonic characters be playable in 3d again.

I like how Shadow kills Eggman in most of the non-canon endings, sometimes for no reason.

Might also be because Eggman did release him back in SA2. Not to say they aren't exactly on friendly terms since they both have used each other for their own ends. (Shadow manipulating Eggman in SA2 and while Eggman did save Shadow after that game's events, it didn't stop him from producing a shitload of androids based on him either)

It's definitely one of the more entertaining interactions between the two given SA2 and Heroes' contexts.

Issue 4
Art:

I do like the art in this issue quite a bit. Characters are expressive, and colors are delightful. It’s pretty, and a welcome change from the flatness of the last issue.

(.webp doesn't do this page justice)
Summary:
The issue begins with Sonic running towards yet another town under attack by badniks. (Referred to as Eggman’s Robots) He thinks to himself how there are a lot more robots and he might need help from the Resistance for this fight. Frankly, this attack doesn’t seem any worse then the last few, but really this is just a lead into another introduction. This one is actually for an original character, Tangle the Lemur.

Tangle as it happens, lives in this town, and she’s been fighting off robot raids with her prehensile tail. She is inexperienced but is able to help sonic out. And you may have also realized Blaze is introduced in this chapter as well. Blaze actually terrifies Tangle slightly which did get a smile from me. I do appreciate a decent visual gag.

The three manage to take care of the rest of the badniks. Sonic formally introduces Blaze to Tangle, and then Sonic catches up with Blaze. Blaze came over from her dimension to help Sonic prevent a terrible disaster. She only did this now, and it’s pointed out by Sonic that she completely missed Eggman taking over the world. That aside, Blaze is here for a reason and she stays behind to help clean up Tangle’s town while Sonic runs off. The issue ends with the return of Dr. Eggmann being teased.

Final Note:
I actually found myself liking Tangle in this issue. Not to say that she is particularly outstanding, but she fits well into the comic as the rookie character of the story. That being said later in the comic you would be excused if you thought she was just another one of Sonic’s longtime friends. We’ll get to that when we get to that, but I find myself realizing this comic actually had some promise in the beginning. Blaze is also a character I am not particularly a fan of how she’s used, but her problem is that she’s barely in the comic at all.

I will only say one thing about this. It’s funny how they managed to release 4 issues weekly, but now they can barely manage to release monthly without suffering a delay.
