That’s a lot of words to say “the fans are wrong they just don’t understand my GENIUS”. Maybe if Iizuka thinks the gameplay videos are misleading and don’t accurately represent the game, Sega shouldn’t have approved them?

Or maybe this is an elaborate long con by IG “Sonic was never good” N to make everyone think the game is empty and boring 🤔
This is really bad. Iizuka, you should've just shut up you fucking retard. Gamescom 2022 takes place during the 24th-28th August and TGS barely above 2 weeks after. I think the gamescom build would be the "definitive" version of what you could expect at release. Unless they're going to magically pull something out of their ass: It's over, sanicbros.

Amnesia plot basically confirmed. This explains why the cyberspace levels are familiar tropes but not 1:1 recreations of levels seen before. Also there are Bayonetta-style loading screens for you to try out combat.

I'm still mixed on the game but the general fan reception seems to have changed.

Side note: only thing I changed about this video was the original gay ass starting music.

Just shows that SEGA should have shown more interesting gameplay from the start.

Sonic Frontiers looks like an asset flip. Sonic Unleashed is 14 years old and blows this shit out of the water. The dev team must've lost all the useful employees, because Sega hasn't put any serious money or thought behind mainline Sonic since Generations. Pathetic.

Maybe people would understand better if your people didn't go out of their way to hide footage like they're downright ashamed of what they made. Like Lizuka is right to be smug towards the wider sonic fanbase because they are retards, but jesus.

"It's the customers who are wrong." - Every Japanese corpo ever

Was never a big fan of the Sonic games. I was a Mario kid. I just didn't care much for them. But somehow ended up with them all. I had the first Sonic game Sonic 2 Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. I remember getting Sonic 2 with my Genesis in the 90's. I just don't remember how I got the others.

When I started stockpiling ROMs for the SNES and Genesis I downloaded all the Sonic games. Again, not a big fan but I did it anyway. I even have the Genesis collection on my Switch and it has the Sonic games. I don't care for them much but I always end up with them.

Oh so it's realistic Skyrim Sonic but they use the ring/jump pad sounds from the original Sonic game that was released 30 years ago, very cool. Nothing sells the realism of a game world more than getting hit and suddenly I'm in a pachinko parlor.

I used to think the Japanese were actually good at business but now I see it for the facade it is.

If this game is some how good and not shit as it currently looks all that means is Sega has fucked up marketing massively. But even if it turns out good that doesn't change the fact the art style choice was an idiotic move and should have went with something more cartoony/fantastical to at least avoid the "nintendo hire this man jokes".

Control Customization has been confirmed for the game:
According to a preview piece from Summer Game Fest by TheGamer, it seems that Sonic Frontiers offers complete customization over how Sonic controls in the new open-zone game. Eric Switzer writes that the game gives players "a dozen or so sliders" that adjust Sonic's speed, acceleration, resistance, and turning among other things. Switzer also states that these controls pop up the instant the demo begins.

That's what it's starting to look like. Ever since the recent gameplay video came out, reception for the game has become a lot more positive.

I think it'll just be above average at best unless the open world and general level design design is somehow amazing going forward after this initial level. It doesn't feel like it is truly taking advantage of what Sonic could be in a game like this due to level design laziness (the grind rails look so out of place and lame). It looks like it controls better and moves faster in the more recent footage, but it still looks very "okay".

I'm expecting a true non-game journalist 7/10 at best, likely just being a 5-6 overall. It won't be as hot garbage as I initially thought, unless you hate open world games in general. I personally don't as I liked BOTW well enough when it came out.

Next embargo's up on the 29th...for some reason. That should be covering the "Cyberspace levels".
Could this also line up with the rumored date for the Nintendo Direct? Maybe that will have a date reveal? Oh, fuck! I’m starting to sound like one of those shithead YouTubers! I’m turning into a blue puppet!
