There's more.
Copying this from one of the comments:
Music that sounds different from final release:
3:40 Digital circuit
4:54 Glyphic Canyon
10:00 egg breaker ( less instruments)
10:30 unknown, sounds like dimitri theme from sly cooper lol
11:13 lost impact ( less instruments)
17:10 the ark (sounds more like the sa2 version with lyrics)
18:20 iron junggle ( different instruments with lyrics)
20:29 black comet ( sounds like final version but is not)

Is there anything significant about these leaks so far? I just found out about them, can't wait to get digging.

Shadow is an ass hedgehog confirmed.
Sounds like something they grabbed off a sample disc. For the most part, any lyrics in Sonic music was performed for the song and not sampled (exceptions I know of are any vocals in Rush songs and I think the character-specific island BGM in the Frontiers DLC), so I'm guessing the vocals here were basically placeholders that they didn't have time to replace with custom-made vocals, so they just removed them and redid the song a little for the final game.

He needs a proper game IMO.
Considering the recent massive push for Silver following crossworlds, I hope that at least one of the fan game projects announced afterwards do actually release before it can crash and burn in flames.

"You will soon have your game, and you will make it with your own hands"

What if we blatantly copied NiN's March of the Pigs but replaced the lyrics with random rap phrases. - Jun Senoue probably
Also, hearing the first tracks in the E3 prototype OST makes me think that the composers were short on time and were basically sending the first musical sketches they could come up with to ST considering how similar and rough most of them sound.

There's a similar sort of story with regards to Magna-Fi and Who I Am, but now it's turned into there being two stories of it either being a track they were already working on that Jun wanted to use, like with Sins of a Divine Mother, or that it was a track made for the game that Jun decided against using.

I want to give props to Sonic Mega Collection composer Hideaki Kobayashi (thanks, Wikipedia) for his exemplary upbeat music work for that compilation.

These two tracks stand out to me. Booting up the game on the idle demo screen (whatever it's called) has that upbeat, electronic composition that makes you eager to play. The second track gives a somber feeling of nostalgia; almost like you're pausing the game to go eat dinner, go out with your friends, or just reminiscing about happy memories from childhood.

Shit, it's enough to make me teary.

I remember getting this game for my birthday. I played sonic 1, 2 and 3 on the original genesis when i was very young and forgot the series existed after my console died. Almost a decade later, i was at a friends house, saw him play Adventure 2 and freaked out that sonic was alive and well. When i played sonic three again, my parents comment how nostalgic it was watching me play Sonic again. My brothers had no idea what was going on since they weren't born yet when genesis was around the household.

I'm revealing my age, but I got this game for Christmas for my PS2. I wanted Sonic Unleashed from this trailer:

Never heard of Sonic before, never had a Genesis or Nintendo before (wasn't even born yet), but the trailer looked cool. I guess they didn't have it so I got Mega Collection Plus instead.

Most I remember from Mega Collection Plus outside of its music and some puzzle game where slime falls from the top of the screen.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, that's it.

It's just a Sonic and sega game collection but the Options and Extras Menu goes hard for no reason other than to make me feel melancholy for a time I can never return too. I remember listening to it during a hot summer afternoon with my windows opened, gawking at those butt-fuck insane comic covers trying to figure out what was going in them. And then I played Sonic and Knuckles and maybe The Ooze, or even Comix Zone if I wanted to get my ass kicked that day.

Sonic games are best know for their music if nothing else. That was no exception.

Regarding collections I was more attached to the Sonic Classic Collection on the DS, considering I was almost always on the go in my 20's.

Playing Sonic3&K is a good hour killer when you're waiting for someone or if you're on a long train ride somewhere.

I was watching an old Retsupurae when I saw this. This happens because there are two entrances to the tower, but it's funny to imagine Sonic Team doing this because it made them lol:

Goven the political leanings of the people who run SEGA's social media accounts, would it be noteworthy or not that it wasn't posted on Twitter. They posted it to the FaceBook page after all.

Edit: I think it's just my device bugging out. It shows up when searching for 'Sonic Rewind', but not on their main page.

I only suggested it because I know TailsChannel has done that after shitting up their website, and there's considerable crossover between SEGA social media interns and Sonic fansites.

Hearing the egg breaker theme without the SA2 eggman theme samples sounds so fucking weird because you can somehow still tell that it's a remix of the SA2 eggman theme.
