Which only goes to serves just how fucked up the series is
I think a hard reboot (or a soft one) might be necessary. Funny, just like how Sonic 06 was meant to be. Silver was meant to be an one-shot like Shadow, but he stuck around for... Reasons. Fans wanting him back? Even worse, unlike Shadow, you can't have him work for the government that easily, as he's mono-focused on fixing his future. Still, having him stuck in the present because he can't go back to his time (probably because, when saving it from the disaster, he deleted that timeline) would be a good start.
Or have him go to Blaze's realm and stay around with her, as little is done with that cat anyway.

Can't you just have, like... the "bad future" Silver comes from fixed into merely becoming a "good future" or "as it should be all along", and he and everyone he knows still lives in, despite the logic of the butterfly effect between the actual eras? You all know what I mean here.

Then have him come back from "the future" to help ENSURE his good future as well as liking to hang with Sonic and co for adventure, the way Knuckles logically should be stuck on Angel Island a lot more than he is but we excuse it because, Knuckles.

I'm guessing that amount of logic has escaped Sonic Team, huh?

They did try this with Sonic Colors DS, Silver shows up in that game and mentions that in his world “the sky is blue and everyone’s got a smile”. Problem is that it’s Sonic Colors so they just used it as an excuse for him to show up for a couple side missions.

Silver has been the franchise's poster potential man for more than a decade at this point, in paper he should be one of the characters with the most innate power after Shadow. But given the circumstances around him and his status as a time traveler, any kind at a protagonist role from him is basically reduced to whether a deus ex machina in the story can allow it or not all, which is kind of tragic considering that has the foundations for a higher stake story as well as the possibilities of more flexible characterization given his serious yet always optimistic personality mix compared to Sonic or Shadow which are set in stone for the most part. That trend a few months ago of Silver having to fix a wasted future on his own against the remains of the Eggman empire is a great example of how to have him on the driver seat while staying true to his backstory.

Or have him go to Blaze's realm and stay around with her, as little is done with that cat anyway.
Would be quite fitting for Silver to hang out in Blaze's dimension when he's not needed in the main timeline as he avoids causing even more butterfly effects and allows him to be reached at a moment's notice. I also find it kind of funny how Sonic Team pretty much made the most straightforward love story in the series unintentionally back in 06 when it came to the relation between those two and the plenty of media which came after and frequently paired them together or implied that they like each other to some degree. I think a lot of the writers and VAs also have hinted to liking the pairing as well which makes it even more hilarious considering Sega's stances on relations between characters.

Clearly titling the song "You are my companion" means they're just really good friends.

One of Shadow's comments straight up says she fell in love with when she was in elementary school and wants to marry him.
I would have picked shadow because he is the most likely to say racial slurs. My reason is deranged too but it's also based and correct.

That would work, but you assume SEGA cares about non-Sonic characters...

Good example. Sadly, doesn't Silver go back to his regular behaviour in Sonic Forces?
Although Silver has no reason to be in the Sonic Crossworlds game unless he likes karts.

Are you referring to comic stories, or Sonic Forces here?

This has to acknowledge Blaze's dimension, which is a lot of work.
Perhaps if we got a game set in Silver's future, we could have him do stuff in a new scenario with a completely new cast, maybe stretch things a bit by having Sonic's grand-grand-grandson be a thing here (or confirm Silver is said descendant).
But that would mean a main game without Sonic, which so far hasn't happened.

silver came from 200 years in the future, chasing the evil eggman nigger who traps robotnik in a playing card like he's yu-gi-oh and wants to do the same to the planet because robotnik acting like a goofy jim carrey made him have his period and that was NO GOOD

>Cream being on that list in general
Death to lolicon niggers
FRICK YOU, I played Sonic Advance 2 and 3, and I say that there's nothing more satisfying than engaging in nuclear warfare so I can melt the final boss in a matter of seconds.

(But I do agree, death to loli subhumans)

...Although looking back at this list, the fact that there's no signs of Omega, Rouge, E-102Y, Sage, and specially Dr. Eggman, makes me question the Japanese audience's taste in Sonic characters (why is Mephiles even there bro???).

Judging by the comments, I suspect like 80% of the votes were from yumejos and fujos who were voting for which tiny animal guy they want to fuck. The Japanese Sonic fanbase in general seems to lean more way female-heavy than the Western fanbase, with all the feminine type of autism that attracts. It's not surprising Eggman or the robots couldn't place in that environment (plus Gamma was basically in only one game 25 years ago). Sage is too new, and any lolifags who might vote for her are gonna have their votes split with Cream (and the comments in Cream's sections do seem pretty suspect). The lack of a Rouge is a little surprising, but she's likely more voted for my male fans than female fans, which hurts her. Looking at the female characters that placed relatively high, Blaze has the sort of androgynous appeal with both men and women, and Amy gets treated like a self-insert character by Japanese female Sonic fans.

Supposedly Sega had Jason Griffith throwing F bombs left and right at everyone during the early tests recordings for Shadow 05, so slurs from him are not out of the question. plus we always have this at least.

Meant it more for 06 and Forces, but I guess the comics are a better example in this case, despite the somewhat flanderized personality Silver has in those sometimes. In almost every game where he's is featured, I always felt as if Silver was meant to have a larger part in the story, specially in Forces where he's barely more than a plot device at times. Between his psychic powers and being of the most important assets for the Restoration, it feels as if he's just there to fill a hole instead of being a proper key player in the story. The comics did that last part better but him being a insecure hesitant mess even in tense situation kind of drags it down.

There has been attempts at non sonic focused games (Tails' Skypatrol and Adventure plus Knuckles' Chaotix) but it's a shame that there hasn't been any other games like them since then. A game that plays like like Castlevania PoR with two characters active at the same time that can combine attacks and swap places in real time featuring Silver and Blaze in the Sol dimension would be rather interesting.

Clearly titling the song "You are my companion" means they're just really good friends.

They walked willingly into that one and they know it, which makes the contrast between their mandates and the actual relation of those two in universe a laugh worthy moment every time it's brought up.

Is that why Amy got so bland in Current Year (same for Metal Sonic, somehow)? Because she no longer even loves Sonic, or at least doesn't show that openly. I fear the next live-action movie will force a "girlpower STRONG!" Amy that needs no Sonic, just like the Netflix Sonic show (Sonic Prime), did.

Forces was a mess in that the script was made from different pieces. As for 06, it retconned Blaze's background. Future games retconned Silver's story as well, and SEGA doesn't know what to do with those two's backstories as they keep changing.

You could say the same for Shadow, but again, Forces was made quickly.

If you mean IDW, he has an important role, yes, the same "dark future" thing I mentioned, then he kinda stays around, wondering what to do.
He needs a proper game IMO.

These were done in the 90s and in one case for Shadow, and never again, sadly. Silver and Blaze are also very powerful since both have psychic powers and can fly, which means you could make a cool Metroidvania style game with both, as you say, but Team Sonic hasn't made anything too complex lately.

Not at all, that's the fault of American writers like Ian Flynn. You can see with the Japanese comments they go on about how Amy is great for being so devoted to Sonic.
