I'd wager those channels are still there somewhat on IRC. Check the Synirc server and look for #GBS, but in general I think a good chunk of that server is just goon chats. I have a feeling the more interesting stuff happens there since it's a lot less normie friendly than Discord is.

The true crime was going against the Bernie hivemind. His genocide denial was just the excuse.

And it wasn't just genocide denial, it was the denial of the genocide of muslims*. Everything else was just people jumping on him.
His constant no-gag reflex deep-throating of China and Stalin (including his hilarious anti-imperialism post praising Russia, China and Cuba) didn't do him any favors, but denying the Holodomor/communist crimes is bog standard for those parent's basement commies, and if it was a bannable offense the board would be a ghost town.

It’s wild because D&D isn’t even moderate, it’s always been kind of clear that being anywhere to the right of Mao is grounds for probation/banning. D&D has never not been chock full of unironic tankies, and their biggest crime is just not getting in on the Sanders hypetrain which C-Spam was a containment zone for. And they just keep eating each other now, nevermind that Sanders is being eaten alive by Buttigieg of all people now.

The Democrats are firmly entrenched in neoliberalism, and that just isn’t changing because the DNC isn’t willing to just suck it up and fall behind an outsider like the RNC did with Trump. And as long as the economy is good and people are getting paid, then they’ll never be desperate enough to fall into an outright revolution.

On the topic of Mods Knew, there's always been something that sort of stuck with me and I keep forgetting to post about it. Just a really odd thing. I think maybe it was in the TV forum.

Remember when the Jimmy Savile thing really blew up? Like a while after his death and all the pedo stuff came out and everything was going nuts? There was an SA thread about it that was really taking off, and being American I'd never even heard the guy's name before so I popped in to see what was going on.

It was mostly UK goons and like every other post was someone going "Oh I always suspected he was a pedo" or "I just knew he was a creep." After a while, one of the mods came in and said something along the lines of "Shut up. You DID NOT suspect, NOBODY knew, there's NO WAY to tell someone's a pedo, and ANYONE who says they suspected it is gonna eat a probation."

That just came off as real strange and defensive. Then about a month or so later, Aatrek happened.

More or less everybody posting in C-SPAM's Democrat thread were the same people that fell in lockstep with the DNC in 2016, shat on Bernie supporters, and were SHOCKED to find that Hilldawg was so shitty a candidate that she lost to a steak salesman. They haven't evolved, they've just changed masks. Once the DNC screws Bernie a second time you can guarantee these same husks will wither into "blue no matter who" mode.

With all its problems most of SA's biggest fuckups revolve around promoting possibly the most exceptional people to moderator/admin positions. Just compare most of the sites you visit and think about how invisible the admins and mods are on the good ones, and even on glorious KF the mods will shitpost and hang out but only throw their weight around if threads are getting fucked up or derailed. And they don't ban you for rating them exceptional for posting a hot take.

If SA's mods weren't so fucking cucked to death and actually did their job behind the scenes or just had fun in threads rather than acting like a regular poster on steroids I think a lot of the more exceptional threads could be salvaged. Instead we get editorialising in the bans, probations for wrong-think, and letting popular posters get away with doing whatever as long as they're towing the line or claim to be a disabled black troon.
