So word on the street is FAU went on a probating/banning spree last night over a thread that contained several sfw Splatoon images and declared them all as "creepy!"

Also one of the reasons a lot of the users are getting upset is this ban is coming in 48 hours after they were warned to stop (which they did) by some dude who had nothing to do with the situation in the first place. He nuked the thread for images ~10 people posted and now everyone who posted in the thread is getting called a pedo elsewhere in SA. There's some spillover into the other GDQ thread, but most of them have taken refuge in discord for now.

I didn't make the gif, but there were a good 10-20 pages of people spamming fanart so I guess he picked his fav.

The chat threads for the GDQs have been awful for years. The fucking battlecry of the last one was "down with cis" and half the damn posts were, ugh, "lewds" of Kazooie and other bird characters because it's a meme with the troons that Samus Aran is a birdfucker after being raised by bird people. It was a real clear indication of how much the inmates are running the asylum by this point. That pile of garbage still got goldmined.

I came back to say that the people who are saying that we're trying to champion lgbt as the real reason the thread got nuked and not the porn posts are ignoring context of the forums at large. This is coming hot off the heels of KiwiFarms Ads (a site with a known lgbt bodycount) being allowed to actively advertise and seek new users for their doxx hunting site. Then this thread rolls around, and is largely populated by LGBT folk and exists entirely on its own island. So when you come in and cull the entire thread on a drunken power trip after a mod warning was already issued and posting had returned to normal chat thread shenanigans shortly after letting KiwiFarms fly scotfree, it sends a really mixed message. You can wave your hands in the air all you want and say "I love gay people! they're great!!!" and that may very well be the case but what you say and what you're doing are sending two different messages. On top of that your stark insistence that no it is the posters who are wrong in the face of every piece of logic and reason being presented while fully admitting that you were having a drunken meltdown is a really fucking bad look. You killed a really fun and friendly thread that's brought a lot of people together for a good cause, and your follow up to it has been extremely shitty, to a point that even if you were to reverse the thread closure and the probations right now, it wouldn't matter because all of the posters aren't coming back and if anything are just going to make your life harder in the following months because they don't fuckin care anymore and are just gonna do the same drive by shitposting you were doing last night. If you wanna probe people for posting NWS, fine cool go for it. But getting pissy and probing for a week for shit that happened two days ago and then rage closing the thread when people start shitting on you for being a massive baby is dumb. Considering the war going on in here with your creepy weird racist/ableist FYAD gang coming in to white knight for the hallowed group of Something Awful Admins (lol), it seems like it was something you were doing entirely for laughs within your weird in-group.

Some of the characters in Splatoon are under 18, so anything that even hints at sexualization was seen as pedophilia. Meanwhile there are threads on the forum dedicated to games whose sole purpose is to sexualize little kids.

Look its not that hard. If you have a problem with the way the forum is run, take it over to QCS and someone will look into it lock the thread and ban you.
