I think I'm a big deal? Where exactly are you drawing this conclusion from? I've got a ton of faults, but bragging or being egotistical is hardly one of them. Do you just have this concrete, set image in your mind of who I am and what I'm like and you've vowed to never change it? I really have no clue where you've gotten the impression that I think I'm a big deal.

Also does running a website not count as a "paying gig?" Is the money I earn from it fake or not as good as "real" money or something? What disqualifies it from being a source of revenue?

Even after 16 years of this, it just still surprises me when I read stuff by people like you who live in this strange, closed little box of a world where decade-long grudges against comedy website webmasters are the norm. I like to call it fan fiction. People literally write fan fiction about me.

Scott Adams has an interesting way of responding to people who get mad at a version of him, or a version of what he has said, that does not accurately conflate with reality.

It's a "hallucination", but I prefer "fantasy". There is this fantastic version of life and the people in it that you feel strongly about, and it always obliges your own confirmation bias.

Thank you, I don't do the whole flamewar or GETTIN' MAD AT PEOPLE ONLINE deal, so I'm not out to insult or make fun of anybody here.

A lot of people have these preconceived notions about me and who I am, based off what they heard from other people or read on reliable informational sites such as ED or SS. I'm just pretty much an average guy, and I enjoy posting here and talking with you guys about stuff, because most of you seem very reasonable and even friendly. There just seems to be this strange contingency of people who have some weird lifelong quest to badmouth me and spread nothing but negative stuff about me, and I think people who have never actually spoken with me or interacted with me sometimes fall into the trap of "well I read it on the internet, so it must be true!"

The sheer amount of hatred and energy some folks spend obsessing over me is very interesting. I have a theory about it, but I won't bring it up unless somebody is curious and asks.

I'm cool with you too. Life is too short to be angry about shit, much less hold grudges, particularly about the internet. There's no point in anger, it just consumes your life and turns you into a bitter asshole. When I stop liking a website, and I know this may sound absolutely crazy and weird as hell, I stop going there. I don't strike up a crusade against its owner and spend a decade of my time and energy obsessing over him. It's words. On the internet. There are more important things in life, such as my newborn baby, my wife, my dogs, my kids, my parents.

The internet has seemed to strip perspective away from people.

tbh i don't think you could even run a dishwasher. according to you, you're very busy doing "backend shit" but haven't ever actually mentioned what any of that is while never bothering to actually moderate or administer your website. it's cool you make money and i'm glad you're able to support your children, but you're more like a trust fund baby then someone who actually works for a living.

i think you're projecting a good bit here because you're mad at your situation in life. i unironically feel bad for that situation with your mother and i hope you the best in that, but i think you need to take your own advice here. take a deep breath and realize not everyone is as pissy as you are.
