Alright so there's a person on the forum who goes by the name of 'Riley' who I see regularly enough talking about things like fighting games or Overwatch, they run a webcomic called Dead Winter and for no particular reason I had a look at the link to the comic on their profile since I haven't looked at it in years.

Strangely enough it currently says that it was by 'Allison Shabet' which I found a bit confusing since I could swear it was a man's name previously.

Sure enough I checked an old interview with Allison in question and they sounded, uh, curiously male. Then I found a Facebook page for this name with a bunch of artwork from the comic and I was greeted with one of the most concentrated cases of Troon.txt I've ever seen:

I'll bet two American Dollars that Allison here identifies as a Lesbian.

Yes, I remeber when Ol' Dave trooned out in like 2010 or something. He was at the forefront of the troon wave, and having read his comic when it was standard walking-dead Zombie fare. Around the time he trooned out the comic started to be more about the main character being in lesbians with the nurse secondary or something. Which never made sense because her whole thing was having a mutual crush with hero cop who got bit, bought time time to the main cast to escape, but wasn't turning and his adventure was more interesting than the main story. But I guess Dave trooned out, so decided that it was time to make everyone gay per normal troon trajectory.
I dunno, updates fell off while he was inverting his cock and I never picked it back up.

Cult behaviour. I still remember the person who tried to get everyone they knew to stop using the word 'denigrate' because they had been told it was offensive because it was about black people. Turns out, NPC hard enough and you can turn on a brain filter that insta-replaces 'nig' with asterisks, no matter where it is in a word.

I remember being in a continuing ed seminar once at an Ivy League school and hearing an audible gasp from some kid when the prof used the word "niggling". But the teacher didn't blink, and I think she totally leaned into it, as I recall her using the phrase "niggling details" nearly every day for the rest of the quarter.

So after a week plus down time. The GBS ukraine thread had a melt down. The Cspam thread supports russia. eastern European goon got "helldumped"

The best part is the mods/admins have to handle cspam with kit gloves also all the admins are on vacation.

Why because cspam is the most active forum on the site and if someone buys another goon a white supremacy avatar, the mods dont want to blank it because someone paid money for it.

This is what happens when the majority of your users are misanthropic middle aged men with numerous mental illnesses. Goons have always been bitchy and hostile, but that was sort of a virtue back in the web 1.0 days when it was effective at keeping garden variety nitwits from shitting up the forums. These days nobody who isn't already part of the community is even trying to post there, and the pool of active users is being gradually whittled down by infighting and scandals. And they still can't seem to have a mod team that doesn't have at least one sex pest in it.

CSPAM really is just draw-droppingly insane, it's not even typical left-wing nuttery, it's levels of mass delusion and conspiracy peddling that would make your average Twitter user want to log off and go outside. You have to be a certain level of crazy and online to even understand the mentality of the people who post there. I can only assume that some of the power users over there have a lot of clout with the admins, otherwise they would almost certainly have been clamped down on after the shooter incident.
