But Doobie knew how to play those goons like a fiddle. In the first kickstarter, he told them that he had a daughter with a lesbian relationship with a black woman, (Doobie doesn't have a daughter, AFAIK) and he also posted some random picture of an easel saying he was a Bob Ross fan painting happy little trees.

The closest thing to a college education was tailgating at Alabama State (Roll Tide), and he still managed to hustle those enlightened SJW shitlibs.
 
The whole Smashmouth egg thing seemed like a last gasp of the SA community to remain relevant to "Internet culture," more than anything honestly.

I think a part of the reason for this is that Lowtax came up in an era where money grew on trees to those in the Internet world. Even the dumbest shit on earth, like buying a URL for something along the lines of "pizza.com", could pay for your retirement. He probably thought his gravy train was just coming on a slower trajectory.

Well, that would explain why SA still looks like something shat out by the early 2000s internets. Not so much the man's current behavior/lack of understanding as to how the internet works nowadays.

I attribute a lot of this to inertia.

Using reality as a judge, there's no way anyone could justify Lowtax's self destruction. But if you think of him as a guy who in earlier years was seeing spectacular wealth as just around the corner, it makes a lot more sense. He thought the free money from before the dotcom bubble burst was just around the corner, and acted in regards of such a thing happening. He probably knows, even if he doesn't admit it to himself, that his fortunes peaked years ago. But he's acted contrary to such realities for so long that any effort he'd take to change now would be a tremendous pain, and it only gets more painful with every day he delays.

The stream of money has also probably ramped down slowly, but trickled in enough to keep him from immediately freaking out about it.
 
I'm going to share one of my favorite contributions of the Something Awful community.

When it was an actual internet presence about ten years ago, it had its own internet radio station. There was one DJ named Kuuenbu. He played cheesy power metal, but most goons knew him for being incredibly autistic and having a live on-air meltdown where he spawned the immortal line "NO YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP DAD!"

He was in his mid-twenties at the time.

 
I will say that Kuu did one thing right: after getting doxxed (the above incident happened in 2005 IIRC, and this was two years later) he pretty much stopped posting on the website altogether and (wisely) minimized his Internet presence in what must have been quite the bit-chomp at self-awareness. From what little he's been making public (mainly in less SJW-infested and more realtalk-oriented areas), he doesn't have very nice things to say about his former community, SJWs, nor the WrongPlanet blend of snowflake autists.

Chalk one up for a lapsing lolcow, I guess.

Actually Kuuenbu last year tried to come back to something awful and pointed out it was him, and he ragequit again after a couple of weeks of everyone replying NO, YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP DAD to every post he made

Dave "Shmorky" Kelly , the famous babyfur turned "gender neutral" (A 40 year old man cosplaying as a teenage girl cosplaying as a teenage boy) has had his mentally ill girlfriend Alucard (which is Dracula spelled backwards) harassing his former friend and boss's wife.
