I hadn't checked on Feliville for a while until now, but yeah, bottom image is a year old. they're also drawing BNHA art but it's not racebent or anything, there's very obvious effort even in non-commissioned pieces:

And a process GIF of the Joshimatsus shows improvement, even if it's just a sketch they chose to finish, it's obvious in the frame between 2017 and 2018 that they got better.

Could Feliville be... growing up? I hope so, they're only 18, they're too young to pull a Rory. Like I said, they still draw stupid shit like these completely non-identical identical sextuplets in full LGBT gear, but it's pretty refreshing to see an artist get better at drawing those things instead of remaining stagnant or getting worse! :optimistic:

Not necessarily SJW art but it reeks of Rory. Specifically the bottom left one. Look at those potato hands and crossed sleepy eyes.

I don’t know if this counts, but for context. Those two are supposed to be frisk and chara from undertale.
Frisk has two identifying characteristics, squinty eyes and blue and pink sweater. A green and yellow sweater for Chara. As always just draw OCs, don't trick people into leaving notes on your OC art by claiming it's fanart.

checked the tumblr, the original post like DOES lead to the 2nd piece
wew
they're both garbage but the lower image is better for a bunch of reasons. mainly though on the new picture the red colouring on all the elbows and fingers and that horrible blush is straight up grossing me out

The watermark rattles me bones more than Micheal Jackson Chara.

"Now nobody will steal my generic and uninspired art!"

Do not get me started on the whole watermark thing. It is entirely pointless and useless with digital art. In fact, in most art classes that teach you how to use Photoshop, you learn how to edit and remove things like that. I understand not wanting your art to get stolen, but when you're on the internet, you need to understand that there is always a risk you are taking and that anyone can basically do anything with little consequences involved. So any rando who likes your fan art is going to use it as a profile pic whether you like it or not. It seems to me that these artists believe their work exists in a bubble and that it's sacred and will never be touched...when that's not the case.

I understand if they're selling it for profit without permission, but even then in most cases you can report people like that now-days. Really, the worst these people can do to hurt artists is not credit their work because it's harder for the artist to find and locate it if it's under a different name.

All making a gigantic watermark shows to me is that these people have so little confidence in their work that they think anyone and everything is out to get them and their art. Thus, they have to scribble all over an already generic style to make it even less appealing. Which honestly, just makes people want to remove them more.

the art is actually pretty ok when you compare it to the other ones in this thread, and the hc is mostly harmless albeit a bit forced, but when you compare it to the original character...

I remember one person making a post saying that an issue that often goes unconsidered when it comes to art theft is that, in the case of professional or aspiring professionals, someone stealing their art to post on their shitty Instagram/Tumblr for clicks can actually get the original artist in hot water when applying for jobs since the lack of meaningful time stamps can make it harder to prove that their artwork is, in fact, theirs. Though I do find it hilarious when 16 year olds with "baby's first Photoshop" art styles add watermarks, as if they're the people art theft targets.

I feel like that's why it's actually smarter in the long run to make your signature smaller and somehow integrate it into the piece itself. That way plagerists are less likely to notice it when they save your work to repost as their own somewhere else. Though even then it should still be Art Business 101 to include a metadata signature in the digital piece/documentation as well as a copy of the original Photoshop file when applicable.

I think these will suffice. From the "gemsona" tag on Tumblr.

These... Proportions. They look so weird with those yaoi hands poorly drawn baggy pants. Where even is its gem?

Supposed to be Moonstone. I have no words at all.

the first two are pretty damn good, and dont feel sjw-y at all [tho the first artstyle IS a tad generic tumblr trash, but just things like taste and a bit of fucked anatomy aside it looks good...] and i actually like both their designs, esp the latter
the last one is a bit more... unattractive, but idk if u can call it sjw art?
