Homestuck characters have like two things canon to their designs, and that's their eye colors and hairstyles, and artist still manage to fuck the second one up completely.

Homestuck is canonically very incestuous.
With the exception of the character "Dad" they're all genetic scramblings of each other.
The Striders and Lalondes are genetically all children of, but also parents of each other, except for cases in which two characters are identical yet alternate versions of themselves (ie Mom Lalonde and Roxy Lalonde) same for the Harleys and Egberts.
I'm sure someone, somewhere on tumblr has lost their minds about this and called it child abuse because the kids mixed their DNA or something but that would be to overlook the child sexual abuse inherent in Alternian society so I don't know why they would be fans to begin with

Considering how so much of homestuck is fetishes hidden like sand on a beach I wouldn't be surprised if Hussie had a clones/twins fetish

Hanzo looks like some shitty anime husbando/waifu. McCree looks like a kid that ate too much ice cream.

And why is it always McCree who gets turned fat? Have they ever looked at his character model.
 
There's a fairly popular Google Plus artist that I used to be in a chat with named "Ohmydeer". She is notorious for having her fans rally around her, and for not taking criticism. she edited over someone's fan art for her. I remember when she did this, because she was talking about how it needed editing and "wasn't black enough" in the chat, then posted it saying it was "amazing and she just wanted to edit it with her touch"

This was in response to being asked to draw noses in these types of drawings.
Some of her art is pretty good, specifically her few realistic portraits, but others just scream "I draw thick girls and big lips am I cool yet".

Because McCree is one of the manliest characters of the game, which would make him a symbol for masculinity in some eyes. Tumblr, and most SJW types, absolutely loathe masculinity, and thus do their best to "correct" him. Other than the usual black washing, they'll make him a fat sack of shit to reduce his masculinity (and might even make him trans for good measure).
