This was far from the only time she helped out a murderous maniac, and not even the worst, which would be when she vociferously supported Jim Jones, along with Harvey Milk and then SF Mayor George Moscone. I also think this cunt probably may hate the Constitution more than any other single elected official in the country. She is absolute trash who has lived far too long.

There's long been an undercurrent in SF political discourse that believes Feinstein had a hand in Milk and Moscone getting offed, because their deaths made her mayor. Becoming mayor of San Fran was her white whale for a decade, and she lost two mayoral elections before the sudden assassination made her first in line for an appointment, bypassing any vote. She was also the first one to report the shootings, and was the first one to find both bodies (she went to Moscone's office before the police arrived).
Whatever the truth of the matter, the deaths catapulted her into political relevancy. She was never one to let a good tragedy go to waste.

Moscone supported Jim Jones more than Cuntstein. Even appointed him the chairman of the housing commission and then refused to investigate what happened regarding Jonestown.
Also the person who could have benefited most from the People's Temple fiasco is Jackie Speier, but she's been oddly content with leading Leo Ryan's old district rather than climbing political ladders.

It's not just confined to real life serial killers. All of this (and this thread in general) reminds me of when the creepypasta thing was big a decade ago, and young women would fetishize Slenderman and Jeff the Killer, too. I'm not the only person who remembers that girl who was near stabbed to death in a public bathroom because two other girls wanted to meet the former and thought killing their friend would summon him. It doesn't just end there, too; back when I was really into ASOIAF in high school, I would see in fan communities female fans of it doing the same thing with Gregor Clegane and Ramsay Bolton, both of them being serial murder-rapists. And the types of people who do this are all female, almost always.
