Sanctioned Suicide - "Kill yourself" but unironically with sodium nitrite. Higher death count than the Farms. Targeted by parents, legislators, and journalists looking to alter Section 230.

There's a difference between taking a risk financially on an invention and engaging in an activity that could lead to someone's demise. The cost benefit analysis here is very clear

What you're arguing is so vague that it can be applied to almost anyone that takes a risk doing something that's outside of the norm.

I'm not going to lie, I was kind of open to the idea of this sort of site, but the admins ITT are very glib about the risks of something like this, and that's highly concerning. This isn't some experiment you run for shits and gigs, this is a very serious responsibility, and from what I've seen you guys aren't up to the task. I sincerely hope no harm came from this site, but frankly I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

I don't know where you get that from, but I think our staff did the best they could under the circumstances. We knew we were taking extraordinary risks, but it's strange how none of this came up when the subreddit existed for many years on Reddit, of all sites.

To be honest with you, I don't think you were on the fence, but you had your mind made up from the start. In that case, anything I say won't convince you either way.

We aren't really talking about trolling though, but rather people using this kind of community as a killing field.
This isn't even a speculative possibility, there have been multiple cases of this happening on similar sites.
This one specifically comes to mind
That i cant answer.

I have heard of this guy before. If somebody gives evidence or reports that, its bannable. Whether it is reported or not is up to RAS or if a global mod wants to take it in their own hands. In my honest opinion it should be reported even if the site itself might be in a grey zone.

We cant scan everyone unfortunately. We need to balance privacy and catching predators.

I have not seen reports about these killings in my mod time. Most goodbye threads state they are alone.

Unless RAS changes this and either does privacy or orders global mods to be more invasive, these are just my opinions.

If there is a killer on SS, they are either doing it on unofficial ss discords or nobody has ever thought to report the weird guy in the dm's. Unwanted messages are hated on SS.

It's fine to think the people running the site aren't the best to do it, but that is not and will never be justification to attempt to deplatform the site through the legal process, which (to my knowledge) all of the major anti-SaSu people so far have been in favor of.

It isn't illegal for suicidal people to talk about their depression, it isn't illegal to post publicly available information about stuff that can kill you, and it isn't illegal to tell you to kill yourself. It is fine to have a moral problem with any of these actions, but unhinged people that have the ears of politicians are trying to erroneously and insidiously make this an issue of legality to get their way. Fuck them.

Lamarcus also said he thought the BBC was "making a documentary" on him.
Bro, my completely uninformed guess is media aint got that much time for you.

They sure had time to sit outside of his house in a car for multiple days, waiting for him to come outside :story:

I beg to differ.

lul i see what you are trying to do here

Journalists have a constitutional right to do what they did.
Nobody was debating that. Everyone is debating on that what they did was morally wrong.

You should also literally see what he just posted right now, a literal letter from the old fart himself Angus Crawford.

To mention again, Angus Crawford believes that the SS .onion site is the spoopy dark webz thatll hack ya!!, and thinks encryption should be weakened. He is very much innocent for this world.

There are hardly any members from the incel forum on SS. All you need to do is spend 15 minutes on there and you’ll realize the ‘type’ of people on there are completely different. The occasional threads of an incel nature are met with backlash. What do you want @melo? You’re so bizarre. There is no pipeline.

Ah yes, that clearly says they were making a documentary on you.
Angus has still been crying about this on his twitter. He is very much focused to the site. I expect him to make more articles. Documentary feels a little big but i think he means that they are acting like they are in a documentary, recording him like an animal (i swear if anyone takes that out of context)
