RT's mirroring Cartoon Network at this point. And I don't know how sad that is.WB pumped RT with money. That was why RT grew so big. It wasn't because RWBY was a smashing success. WB floated RT as a content farm.
Now AT&T turned the spigot off after the GEN:LOCK fiasco.
Miles' lack of self-awareness being rightfully & deservingly mocked
And frankly, I think he's completely forgotten the fact that Yang is a character that's originally based off of Tifa years ago when Monty was still alive, so if he's mocking Tifa as a prostitute, then what will Yang be in his book?
Adam doesn’t need to be tied to three members of RWBY
Bumblebee is pretty confirmed at this point.
The actual problem now is Yang has no reason to exist as a charcter anymore. Her arc is done, and they don't seem to be in a hurry to give her anything new to do.
All that's left is to seal it with a kiss. You know that's how the fandoms acknowledge everything nowadays on romance / shipping. No kiss, no confirmation. It's absurd but that's just how many of the fanbase thinks.
And yeah, I feel like they are just distancing themselves with Yang at the moment because they have no idea what to do with her right now.
But frankly I don't think they've done a good job on the main girl -- Ruby either. Like, she's still just a fucking plot device that move things without personal stakes of her own, stakes that make us connect with her and give us reasons to support her other than she's the main heroine by label.
Calling Tifa is a prostitue, meanwhile in RWBY show, female characters wearing skimpy outfits:

And finally Carmine Esclados from their RWBY Amity Arena game, I sure hope Miles Luna hasn't forgotten about her.

What else? Oh right, I wonder if Miles Luna also calls Jessica Nigri a prostitue based on her job?
Apparently, 16th or 17th April is National Horny Day, so I think it's fine if Miles wants to be honest with his sexual desire.
The difference here is that Tifa is canonically not a dyke (not even a quarter dyke) and openly shows she wants one White (or Orienal man with White looks) man to be into her (Cloud). Meanwhile Blake gets teased as a quarter dyke, Emerald as Cinder's pet dyke, Neon would end up BLACKED, Miles and RWBYfags just follow some composite of politicial lesbianism and sex positive feminism and anti-White Male where sluttiness is okay as long as (White) men aren't around.
They're forcing Ruby as a savior figure in a desperate attempt to appease complaints about how Ruby has been across the series the least relevant of the 4 and comes off as a designated protagonist.
Funny thing? They already have queerbaiting contorversy with Qrow and Clover. Hell, one YouTuber dedicated a whole part of a V7 review on those guys. (Start at 1:44:04 if timestamp doesn't work. If anybody knows of a Streamable alternative that can go for more than 10 minutes that doesn't involve forking over cash, it'd be much appreciated.)It's like they're setting up for the next queer-bait betrayal to the fans since Lance and Keith's relationship back in Voltron, and those who watched that show would know how much of a fucking shitshow that was.

Not to mention that it's able to get itself in the same sorts of scandals that EA has and can allegedly get funding from a major Hollywood actor.I mean RT might not be a huge animation studio, but they aren't exactly a small indie studio either too, are they? They are owned by multimillion-dollar corporations and they have lots of industry inside deals and several videogames, merchandise, and even mainstream comics and manga.

It's a dumb tweet but people are treating Nomura's waifu like a sacred cow who can't be mocked at all for the way she is made to dress. It's mostly funny because Yang is clearly inspired by Tifa and even more sexual.
Yang isn't even personally similar to Tifa outside of her fighting style. Did Monty think Tifa was a sexually empowered girl just because of the way she dresses? If so is that so different from Miles making a joke? It's the same observation with a negative spin. The best thing is when Yang does it nobody fucking bats an eye because everyone is too busy getting hyped at her "awesome fighting style" and "possible lesbian representation relationship" with Blake.
He should have left the tweet up and made fun of the people calling him out.Not to mention that it's able to get itself in the same sorts of scandals that EA has and can allegedly get funding from a major Hollywood actor.

Interesting. But I doubt it's salvageable. The show itself was never even that interesting to begin with.
Also, if they're going for PC premise then it's never gonna sell well because it's been done to death with poor results before. Honestly the whole focus of genderfluid was already very cringe-worthy, we really don't need another one of those here.

Besides Tifa does stick out like a sore thumb and is there to be eye candy, because FF7 was never a serious universe. It's a rude thing to say about a character people love but the FF7 fanbase makes jokes about Aeris being dead and even imply she was a prostitute in earnest so it's just nonsense for them to cry foul.
I see your point but I really disagree in this case, but this isn't really the place to talk about it. I think people are 90% of the time lying when they say they think sexiness is just empowering for a character. They want the fantasy of being sexy or having a sexy girl and don't want to just admit to that. So said sexy character also has to take on some masculine traits for cover. If being sexy itself was empowering then I would not constantly see the same gamer and anime fanbases get agitated over every fictional Beauty Queen who vaguely reminds them of Stacey from High School.I don't think it's whether Tifa can be mocked because of her outfit. It's complication between whether a strong ficitonal female characters can be sexy or not. Because there are people thinking being sexy is wrong and only be seen as a fapping material to a straight male. Others as you said can think that is an enpowerment trait for the character. Of course, both are true for Tifa. Although for me, I support the latter point and use the previous point to make fun of coomers.
About FF7 fanbase or any popular stuffs nowadays at all, it's social media generation, you don't have to play/watch/read the original stuffs to be considered a fan anymore. As long as you just watch/read stuffs on internet, now you can claim being a fan yourself and how certain character is your hero. If you don't agree with that, you are gate-keeping and gate-keeping (true fan or not) debate is another long thing to talk about. I mean FF7 is a prime example of this, people who play original game, people who start to know about FF7 from watching Advent Children and now new people first time playing FF7 with remake version. Then if you look at ResetEra, would you believe all of those people are fans of a certain video game because they actually play the game or just watching someone playing the game on youtube/twitch or just know it because it's popular on internet.
About Miles Luna's tweet, I actually don't really 100% into idea of Miles having his male feminist projection moment either. I can agree on idea of him being an idiot with some kind of edgy kiddo statement. What I mean is, I know a guy calling Symmetra a prostitue because of her outfit and rekting kids in online games is equivalent of pedophillia. Furthermore with Miles idiocy, he forgot what kind of platform and ideology he'll face for making that kind of statment. And of course, lacking of self-awarenes as previously mentioned.
But most importantly, it's always hillarious to see how so called progressive people get crapped on by their own group/ideology.

And this might be because I am more familiar with one fanbase over the other but Tifa's core appeal is her body and she is designed to show it off. It's rude to reduce her to only that or to say she's a prostitute. But it's comically two-faced and insincere for people to pretend to be offended at "such blatant sexism" when they engage in what I'd argue is more genuine sexism all the time and like exactly what he was commenting on with his joke. And yeah I think Miles is stupid too. I think trying to psychoanalyze him when he's really just being thoughtless is silly and will lead to immense presumption. That said RT has had some Male Feminist drama so maybe his involvement on that and this makes a bigger picture than I am aware.
And while I stopped watching RWBY I don't feel like you can reduce the girls' core appeals down to their bodies, except maybe Yang because she has the knockers front and center. But even she has a bold personality which takes over and becomes the bigger focus. And she even suffers bodily damage over the series. It doesn't hurt her assets but it still makes it hard to stick with her if you JUST like her body.
I don't think this is a response to anything I said but maybe I just don't get it. I said Tifa sticks out like a sore thumb in Midgar, which Miles said. While in RWBY everyone dresses like an anime fashion disaster and is definitely designed with sex appeal in mind, but they all are so it just runs together. It's hard to single out any one character as the "sex appeal" girl except maybe Yang, who is based off of Tifa, but even then that is hard to do when she's an amputee now. There is nothing that makes Remake Tifa's design worse here than Yang's or Blake's or Cinder's.
Yang and Co.'s designs were all made when Monty was still alive to be about as "sexy" as Remake Tifa's. Cinder fights in damn high heels. Any defense you will make for them is just more RWBYfag yapping.
Tifa within the original doesn't behave anymore "sexy" than Aerith does outside of her victory pose. She's not shown trying to seduce men when not needed for a mission, only shows serious interest in Cloud. Aerith was the one acting "sexy."
RWBY has 100x the run time so of course it can have "more" to it. It can also have too much, be a confused mess, and only let people down who latch onto different elements.Hot takes! Hey, remember, in your own show, that it just changed the fairly conservative design of Neo into one where she's showing way more skin? Like, just give her thigh highs and she's actually fairly close FF7R Tifa's skin levels? Yeah.Miles' lack of self-awareness being rightfully & deservingly mocked
