Another thing about the alleged racism is how it's tacked on. Clearly, being transphobic wasn't enough. So they had to add in a bunch of other -isms to get people outraged.

Absolutely no book series (or any form of entertainment) would stand up to the kind of rigid scrutiny that's been applied retroactively to Harry Potter. If it somehow did, it would be literally unreadable, and the approved status would only last 6 months until current moral standards change yet again and suddenly the author having mentioned a certain breed of cactus on page 486 of book 4 becomes a racist dogwhistle.

This is what they do to everyone. It completely breaks their brain that anyone could have serious objections to their stuff, so they are completely desperate to prove the person is completely evil and must also be racist, homophobic, sexist and so on. With Rowling she is so universally loved that they take it to extremes, e.g. the imaginary mould, Epstein etc...

While New York is Royal Blue, I mark this as a loud minority like the loony troons usually are, whenever I'm around the Flatiron District I always see people with bags from the nearby Harry Potter store not giving a fuck that they are single handedly funding genocide by making a purchase at that store, and I know of others outside of that area whose kids are getting into the series for the first time without their parents having meltdowns.

Yes. I said it a long time ago in the Hasan thread, but I will repeat that Gamefaqs is very underrated in terms of potential lolcows and belongs right next to Resetera in Community Watch. I guess a reason why it isn't is because it's practically a ghost town at this point, but when the crazies come out, hoo boy.

Now reading the book to his kids, that can also have a work around. It can absolutely be a teaching moment to the kids if he can pause at one of the many problematic moments and use it as a teaching moment to be like, "this part right here where it says this? This isn't okay. The person who wrote this book believed it was okay when it never was. But when it was written it was normalized to talk this way" or something like that.

Technically the claims of Palestinian genocide probably predate even the trans genocide claims. They've been saying they were being genocided since at least the early 2000s and probably a long time before that. It's just that the mainstream media decided to start pushing this after they launched Operation al-Aqsa Flood

On why they just won't let this one fictional series go, think it's a couple of things. One, their entire lives revolve around escapism. Identifying as trans is escapism, rooted in magical thinking, that you can change the unchangeable and just be someone else if you don't like what you have or where you ended up. And while that's true to a degree in some ways, the real ways you can reinvent yourself for the better are hard and tend to require more self-discipline than most of them have. Meanwhile identify as trans and you can opt out and wallow in the fruits of your mediocrity (or worse) forever and avoid taking accountability for why your life is such a depressing disappointment and why you're pissing away your potential. And the world JK Rowling created was (and is) a favorite hugbox for them, comfort media that hits all of the right notes and they want to be able to keep escaping into it, keep using it to play pretend...but knowing she's responsible for it, that the woman who created this whole fantasy world doesn't believe in their innate specialness, sees through them to the unflattering truth, and the awareness of that keeps them from being able to fully enjoy the high of dissociating into it that they crave. It's a shot of narcan to an ungrateful junkie who just wants to exist forever in an opioid haze and never have to face real life and the mess they've made of it, and they're fighting mad about it.

And the other, related, this ideology has a compulsion to coopt, conquer, and plant a flag in EVERYTHING. Nothing, no one can be exempt, and for them this is a particularly favored bit of territory that they covet. They cannot and will not leave well enough alone, they cannot and will not accept that something exists they don't have dominion over, they cannot abide resistance of any sort and must crush it, because it holds a mirror up to them and that shatters the entire illusion. These pathetic clowns practically jizz their spinny skirts with joy every time someone pays for a cameo of some dumb actor to say '[fictional character] says trans rights!' because it's a signal that it's one more thing that's been made to kiss the ring. But they've been told they can't have this. Being told no is already enough to send them into a frothing rage, but here they're being told no they can't have something they really want, and by someone with enough resources that they can't easily destroy it, and her, the way they normally crush anything and everyone that resists.

A lot of them are like that, still stuck in highschool or whatever time period they believe was their golden age.

It's a huge problem for a lot of adults (because at this point they stopped being young) that are completely infatuated with certain pieces of media that they read in their younger years. They want to relieve those experiences and more importantly, that time rather than just move on with it.

With trannies this also means they cry about "I didn't lived my youth as a girl" and claim it's oppression that you tarnish their memories rather than admit they are anally anguished over the media they enjoy not supporting their politics.

I was at a game shop in the city for an event, and I was floored by how many trannies were there for two tournaments (one of which was a Pokémon TCG with kids and teens) and on staff. The shop itself is known for having tryhard players already, but this will make me never want to go back despite having decent stock.
