Referring to people by their biological sex is nowhere equivalent to supporting Hollywood pedos. Also, I would be more than happy to spend my entire life savings on nothing but Harry Potter merch if it means giving reality checks to a bunch of delusional narcissistic creeps.
Y'see, I don't really think these people practice "separating art from the artist" that much, instead, they just memory hole the artist's wrongthink or eebil actions so they may continue to consoom in peace. As an example, most FNAF fans I've run into online are militant leftards, the kind that will chant whatever idolatric phrase is goodthink right now, and that descended into absolute doomer mode when Trump got in office for the second time. I'd wager there's a substantial part of them that also suffers from RDS.
Yet, when consooming the franchise, I see none of them mention having to separate art from artist since Scott Cawthon is a devout Christian and donated to Trump's campaign. And yes, he still gets money from his franchise much like JKR. He also, like JKR, refused to apologize for what he did. Yet, unsurprisingly, this doesn't somehow salt the earth of the franchise and make everyone paying for his games le eebul bigoted nazi.
They are the people who yell about ethics and morals and whatnot the hardest, but make no mistake, most of them don't believe in anything other than what makes them feel good, and I suppose nothing brings them more joy than hating on a woman standing up for herself and other women.
Not to state the obvious but I can’t emphasize how much of this boycott is online only.
Shown time and time again. I remember seeing HP themed candy just sold in regular stores a while ago. That one time I went on a walk with my sister and her child, she told me how much she wants to visit that HP theme park. My more left-leaning friends, who usually suck up to all the pro troon shit didn't even bat an eye when I talked to them about playing Hogwarts Legacy. When I went to the mall recently, I saw one clothing shop selling HP merch, with people checking it out.
Maybe powerlevel but I'm currently also at a really liberal university, the kind where stickers promoting whatever leftist cause are usually peppered where allowed, and people unironically have antifa stickers on their laptops. Yet, even here, when I was sitting in an engineering class, I saw one dude in front of me look up ticket prices for The Cursed Child.
Tl;dr for all that: These permanently online moral busybodies have nothing they actually believe in, and anyone who routinely participates in real life doesn't give a flying fuck about their JKR spergery.
