My opinion is Zaid is going to bleed his dumbass client and his paypigs for as much money as he can get then force him into a settlement, or betray him if he can't convince him, like he snitched out one of his previous clients to the CIA.
At the end of the day Waid the only one getting fucked. I'm gonna love the eventual moment the horde turns on him for failing to take down the head Nazi.
Nah, he got too much of an ego for that.
Aren't people with huge egos typically easier to manipulate than regular people?

I imagine him completely chimping out in an autistic rage at some point during his deposition, probably after getting caught in one of his constant lies.
I'm placing my bets on him coming prepared with a "big hero speech" that he'll attempt to deliver for the record.

"BUT I SAW IT WORK IN THE MOVIES!" he screamed as the judge held him in contempt of court.

He'll be okay if he reserves it for the part where his counsel is questioning him.

A painful financial settlement in Zack's favor will be very satisfying, but it's likely to be our only satisfaction. They will never admit Waid did wrong. The narrative will be "evil redneck Texas judge sides with Nazis." You watch.

I'm anticipating that will start very soon if it hasn't already because none of these rulings are likely to go in Waid's favor.

Which will be fun because that would result in more industry people getting dragged into more lawsuits. Keep those trains running.

I agree, if by "big hero speech" you mean "barely coherent rant about how everybody is a nazi and Mayer is Hitler".

That's part of the appeal. Up until now the various *gates have never had legal grounds to sue. Being snubbed by every publisher, site, and award show isn't illegal, neither is trading review scores for holidays and blowjobs, or hiring your friends. They few times they have broken the law or had to face consequences for their actions they've had the connections to make it go away. Now they've crossed the line into straight up illegal, and their twitter posts and virtue signalling mean nothing. So far they don't even seem to understand the law they've broken.

They're fucked, they just don't know it yet. They are expecting to have their big TV court room moment where they give a big speech about standing up against bigotry, when in reality they are guy from Judge Judy who thinks they don't have to pay for a car because they crashed it before it was payed off.

But paranoid rants sound so much better in your head if you picture yourself as Superman, looking boldly out to the horizon as your cape flutters in the wind. :c

But if you're Mark Waid, you are instead a screeching autist crouched on the floor smashing a telephone receiver into the ground while crying and wailing, while the rest of the office pretends none of this is happening.

Anyone got cliffnotes? my speakers are broken.
TL; DR Waid's pretty damn screwed because while previous tortious interference cases have judged in the favor of the defendant either because there was no previous contract to interfere with or the plaintiff was unable to prove malicious intent, Texas recognizes verbal/written agreements as legally binding so even if there was no "official" official contract between Meyer and AP their Twitter and previous statements about intending to publish Meyer fulfill the tort requirement of a legally binding contract and it's easy to prove Waid acted with malicious intent due to his previous history of behavior towards Meyer and because as he was dumb enough to state said malicious intent in the same post he claimed he'd struck down Meyer's contract.

Edit: ninja'd

The only thing New is some interesting analysis of the two other cases that I believe Waid’s lawyers sited, and why they apply less than Waid might hope.

so I assume the discovery is still chugging along then? They might be going at it for awhile given how much of a profilic social media user Waid is. I doubt they haven't found anything juicy so far
