Will Waid get a pass on the perjury since his lawyer amended the complaint or will the judge bend him over?

Federal judges aren't dummies. Waid probably bought his way out of a perjury rap, but the judge now knows what his word under oath is worth, and that's absolutely nothing. He is a completely worthless, discredited witness and considering his own testimony is all that could get him off the hook, he is pretty thoroughly fucked.

I can't imagine they really care that much

Well, they should, because they're on the hook for any sanctions Zaid racks up while they're endorsing him.

Who would buy sucha comic, said is worthless and to write a character like him should be possible without any need to acquire any kind of rights.
It'd be a comic where he does shitty things and bad things happen to him for laughs. Think of him as squidward

Is there any way they could pass those sanctions onto him or are they just fucked?

Anything Zaid does has the same legal effect as if they had personally done it. If Zaid skedaddled and left them holding the bag, it would be the whole bag. If parties or the court itself collected from them, their only recourse would be to sue Zaid for compensation. They're expected to know what he's up to and what's going on in the case.

IMO the whole pro hac vice process is archaic and somewhat pointless, as it came from a time when an attorney from another state could just disappear back there without much in the way of consequence, but in modern days, if you get in trouble in another jurisdiction, reciprocity means you'll get spanked back home, too. The fugitive lawyer thing just doesn't really exist any more.

Mark Waid as a coffee boy for the Jawbreakers. He keeps trying to murder them but he's so bad at it that they keep him around for laughs.

Mark Waid likes to think of himself as Superman but he's really Captain Carnage from Watchmen.

The court could I suppose, but that would require Waids likeness having any value
If they negotiated a settlement, I suppose there would be nothing stopping Meyer from saying "I'll settle for $100000... or $99000 plus the rights to your likeness". I have a feeling Meyer isn't going to be in the mood for any goofball troll moves though, alas.

LEGAL KIWIS!!! Can Meyer win the rights to Waid's likeness from this case?

He would only be awarded things of value.

No seriously, why would he want it? Waid likely has more than sufficient assets to pay any Judgement without getting into anything weird. Chances are if this goes to trial it will be low 6 figures.

Even if it was offered Meyer would probably tell him to sell it for what he says it's worth and to just give him the money
