Been playing the RE1 mod. It's pretty good and there's a lot of camera angles I've never seen since I've never played the vanilla RE1 at length and it's been almost entirely DC.

The textures look great but there's that same issue where certain objects look like pastel blobs that is present in their RE2-3 mods. And Jill has a mustache in certain lighting.

Look close, that's not a mustache, it's a full goatee!

I forgot how decapitation prone the Hunters were in RE1. I had just gotten back from the Guardhouse and got my shit pushed in with the two Hunters in the hallway next to the piano room.

That's one negative I'll put on REmake that they removed the Hunter decaps. They still do that kill move but Chris and Jill don't lose their heads. But it was in the trailers for it.

I have never watched any of the CGI animated RE films and from what the little I can tell I'm not missing much. Are any of them worth watching at all or did I make the right choice in skipping them?

Those movies are the definition of grab some snacks, turn brain off and hit the play button.
If you just want to see some zombies/monsters being killed, some cool action here and there, some hot chicks kicking ass, and you have some tolerance for mediocre CGI and trash storytelling, then go for it.
I've seen them all and I rate them "ehh/10".

Yes, you are missing much

Watch Vendetta and then don't watch anything else then go watch Death Island, because action-wise it was like Vendetta 2.

The first one with Leon and Claire in the airport is okay, Vendetta is alright if you're one of those easily entertained retards who thinks RE6 is a good game because it has le heccin cool and cuhrayzee action scenes.

*Edited because the site ate half my final sentence.

Ok so I took your advice and watched Vendetta. It was ok but nothing special yet I still enjoyed my time with it. Lots of cool moments with a subpar story that just served to get you from one action scene to another. Can't say I really would recommend it to anyone who isn't already a Resident Evil fan.

Yeah I get what you mean about Vendetta the action scenes were the only thing holding the movie together. If my expectations weren't so low going into the movie I probably would have hated it as well. Instead I just kind of find it ok kind of fun but not nearly as good as the games in the series.
