Seeing them use politically-charged crossdressing gay porn actors to shill the game is enough to make me not even wanna bother with the remake.

I heard all the commotion about the awful VA for Ada but has anyone mentioned Krauser? Granted his VA at least sounds like he's trying (unlike Ada's) but the voice doesn't match the character at all. He sounds like a scrawny edgelord.

When his first trailer released I was furious. I still am, but I've come to realize his voice is not even the worst change to his character.

Nu Krauser is an acquired taste but it's still inferior to the original, like every other voice actor in this one. They did at least make his boss battle into two parts and the second is way more fun than the original imo.

But they completely wrecked Mendez. His second half of his fight is just piss easy, even on pro. The whole "I'm going to swing to back of the room to throw shit at you" is just more tone deaf modern gaming to a T.

He sounds like typical "I'm Russian and evil" guy. It's tiring hearing it many times from eveywhere. I still prefer the old VA though.

So not at all Russian then.

I can't remember ever seeing hide nor hair of them before or when RE4 released. There might have been some grognards on the internet/gamefaqs that were mad because it was labeled a Nintendo exclusive on the childrens Gamecube though. That was common and it was just console war bullshit.
Then you have a terrible memory or are just lying. The backlash against No True Resi kicked off with 4, and was a contentious issue outside of the otherwise global acclaim it received.

Maybe he's trying to say that Krauser sounds like Nikolai, Sergei, or Mikhail.
Exactly that's my point. Even in OG RE4, he claims himself to be an American. Hearing him speaks in bad Russian accent on RE4R sounds weird when you think about it. Then again, it's probably just me.

What's really annoying is that Krauser isn't even Russian! Its a German-origin last name. So you have an American of Germanic descent (whose family in all likelihood came over in the 1850's or even earlier) speaking in a terrible Russian accent.

He says comrade which is Russian for 'friend' and is thus a Russian man. He also wears a beret, which is red, the exclusive color of the Russian alphabet.

I heard both versions of Serenity and the Save Theme and Im surprised to see people legit prefering the remake when it barely seems to be a melody anymore, just a bunch of "nice" sounds that very rarely have a note or two from the original.

In fact, the music is kind of a step backwards to me, even the Regenerator theme feels oddly "generic scary" sounding music now.

I actually do notice a lot of gaming music these days just feel like a step backwards, especially when in remakes where you can see how much the original tracks sound better

What the fuck are you guys talking about?
You guys are doing a bit, aren't you? 😭

Original: Confident, focused and in control
Remake: MAYBE IF I SHOUT I WILL SOUND INTIMIDATING !!! COME ON, LEON!! THIS IS EVOLUTION! GURAAAH!

Kind of reminds me of the galactic empire under Disney, most of them went from cold, calculating and professional to a bunch of short fused, prone to shouting, insecured men children

Because the people writing these villains these days dont know how to write actual villains because they dont know what evil people are actually like (most of them think misgendering is a huge offense)

The OST for these last three remakes is terrible, to nonexistent. I remember the save room theme from 2make sorta playing, and just fizzling out.

I may have gone 20 minutes into it before I just switched the classic OST on because there wasn't anything to listen to.

There's several tracks in the 4 remake that I remember decently well which is more than can be said for the 2 remake outside of Mr X's theme. The Gigante fight, minecart section, Mike's section, the waltzy sounding Salazar boss fight and the opening section/Dr. Salavador theme are all really good. The mercenaries themes are also all really good. It is not even remotely RE2make ambient noise tier.

Maybe you remember them now but we will see in a few years without playing if you will. Im not even saying you wont, Im just saying that a good testament to good song, game or not, is the one that sticks in your mind even after spending a few years without hearing it.

For now its all fresh in your mind

A song being repeated enough that I can remember it years later doesn't mean it's good. Not saying that applies to the original Resident Evil 4 at all, I do think its soundtrack is great, but there are a lot of terrible songs from video games of my youth that are ingrained in my mind just because they would not stop playing. At the same time, there's tons of games that I replay that have great soundtracks that I just don't happen to remember.

Is there any way to ensure you don't get duplicates when trading in tokens for charms?

Edit: Also I get where your coming from with the typical Russian villain voice on Krauser. He may not have the accent per se but he does have the raspy serpent-like tone that is often paired with a Russian accent for eastern-european warlord type villains.
