The merchant now being "generic Cockney guy" is fucking retarded and for fuck's sake, those comments. I'm a firm believer that the modern "gamer" is the dumbest consoomer demographic. Housewives have more sense than those retards.
I hope to buy at least 12 copies.

It really is annoying when coomsooooomers suck the cock of absolutely any game releasing. I think RE4 remake will be fun but I’m not salivating at the mouth.

It was genuinely painful though to see the comments on the SH2 remake trailer.

The comment threads on Youtube for the SH2 trailer are nauseating.

If RE4 didn't need a remake, which is doesn't, I wouldn't even begin to be able to describe how much SH2 didn't need one.

I think a good compromise for RE4 would be updates, like new control options, additional content, improved enemy behavior, and such.

One of the things I see mentioned a lot is not being able to shoot and move simultaneously (be it by design or not). If they just included these types of things and kept it all strictly optional, it would probably be enough to make it feel modernized and appeal to new audiences while not pissing off existing fans.

Yeah RE4 for what it presented was almost flawless for what it was going for. This one is all about quality of life improvements. RE4 hasn't really aged at all in terms of appearance and experience, but being nailed to the ground when aiming is bothersome. And I like the idea of all the games now keeping you out of the menu as much as possible and switching weapons on the fly. Although, I do love some attache case management porn, which I'm glad looks relatively unchanged.

I think the first game to do moving and shooting was the Outbreak File 2, but there was really no use to something like that in how the play style was. In tank controlled games you just want to stay put, and just auto aim at something off the screen. It only comes into play when it's a player's view camera that you can actually use such a thing.

You're right, RE4 achieved everything it set out to do, even RE games I like more don't hit the target as well as it did. But about switching weapons on the fly, that's a good option, but I really hope it isn't the only way to do it because I like taking a moment to think and strategize in the menu.

Oh and there's a similar standalone case management game on Steam that looks cool, I haven't played it but you might like it. I'll look for it and post it later.

I can't remember off hand how the attache case system worked in the footage if that was in game or not, but not allowing you to tinker with that on your own time would be egregious given that was almost the defining feature of RE4.

I'm speaking more about everything using the RE Engine. There's always an element of uncanny valley with them, specifically Claire. Prior to these new games, the main cast was generally loosely based on existing people and idealized. Voth was the only one I remember they directly copied.

But they've been picking quite a bit that just look weird. Claire's face in the game did not match the actual girl and most people thinks she's ugly in that, and they would be right.

Underwear model guy that played Chris in RE7.

I thought the dude they got for Nikolai was really strange looking with his overly skinny celery stick head.

NuJill I think was too cromagnon looking.

The entire cast of DMCV is hideous.

I would prefer they just created faces instead of basing them directly from real people but instead they scout for the weirdest phenotypes half the time.
It's especially jarring when after three games, you're used to that face being Leon/Chris/ShootyMcFace and then Capcom does a soft reboot again. I still think Umbrella Chronicles was best claire.

I think you mean Darkside Chronicles since RE2 wasn't in UC. I do like her DC look and like the slightly "remake" style outfit way more than what we actually got. Like most of the games back then, the cutscene and in game models have different faces, although the FMV version looks the most like RE2/CV Claire as those two in particular were definitely going for the same thing.

I've always been partial to the FMV cutscene CV Claire for some reason. That game has three separate faces. FMV, cutscene and in game all look different.

I don't think there's a wrong answer with what Claire you like most as long as it isn't Rev 2 or RE2R.

She looks like Tobey Maguire in Rev 2. They really FUBAR'd Jill in a couple games but they seem hellbent on making Claire hideous, even in the CG films.

I said it from the instant it was announced, RE4 is just going to have all of the joy and creativity sucked out. Never imagined they'd replace it with 'he has a cow mask, lul'

Another CG movie coming out in the summer, but wait - we'll finally get to see Jill, and Rebecca too!

I can't wait for them to either appear only in a flashback, or to get captured and spend the whole thing waiting to be rescued, because whenever CG Leon isn't on screen, everyone must be asking where is CG Leon.
And Jill is identical to RE3R, so that's gotta be a flashback.

RE4R looks like it'll be good, probably better than RE2R in terms of accuracy. But the series in general hit a creative dead end years ago. RE7 and 8 are just a different series as far as I'm concerned.

Rev 2 was the first game where they redesigned Claire to look less like former voice actress Alyson Court, due to Capcom firing her, and her design suffered massively as a result.
Where are you getting this information they based her on Alyson Court? If it's true it's true but this would be the first I've ever heard that.

She was pretty when was young but I don't see the resemblance.

Like maybe you could make a case for this render but it's not in the game.

Hopefully it’s not dogshit, but entertaining dogshit like Vendetta.

I only watched clips of Infinite Darkness and couldn't stomach even that. Vendetta is complete schlock, but in a good way.

I don't remember which one it was; but I liked the one where Rebecca got kidnapped by some weirdo, and 80% of the rest of the movie was Chris and Leon doing their best John Wick impersonations. I don't know what the fuck is going on, but that was enjoyable, I also simp for Rebecca.
