I played the original RE3 on an emulator a few months ago to see just how much they really butchered and man, I can see why people were so pissed off with the remake.

The fuck happened to the clock tower? The dead factory? The park? The different choices you could make and random enemies to add to the replay value?

It genuinely doesn't even feel like the same game, they must have been on crack when they developed the remake.

Sound design is really good, especially the shotgun. Which looks like they repurposed the fully upgraded one from RE2R. And it's good to see the rifle still goes out of scope view as he racks the bolt. One of things I really liked about the original was the reloading animation porn, specifically with the first rifle.

Luis's voice actor sounds awful.

Haven't played the original, but from the clips that I saw Zinoviev is deliciously evil in the remake.

Cool details I noticed in the revealed gameplay:
-Luis seems to fire faster and do unique melee moves
-Shotgun blast to one of the Ganados seems to either split the poor fuck in half or cause some form of heavy mutilation; either way I'm into it
-The Ganados are chanting some creepy shit in the background, adding to the idea that the town has the three survivors surrounded on all fronts
-Rain doesn't look as horrible this time around
-Leon has a new front kick to stunned enemies
-The Bullman does a FUCK TON of damage: Leon is practically dead from one swing of his sledgehammer. Not an enemy to be trifled with apparently

The more I notice, the more hyped I am. Total agree on Luis' VA though, I'm not digging him.

I liked the guys justification and reasoning for everything. Seems like they are putting a lot of good thought into what to change or not change in this remake. Can't wait to see how the regenerators turn out.
I hope they're like twitchers in dead space. All the regenerating has turned them into a permanently seizure-having twitchy fuck that will CHARGE at you through the hallway, and to trick people who played the OG - it spawns across a hallway and a cutscene plays where it slowly walks like it used to.

And then it just goes on all fours and BARRELS YOU with it's face right at the camera.

Leaks stated that Regenerators have 4 unique forms now, each vastly different from the other; with the confirmation of new enemy types aside from the Bullman, we may very well see Regenerators acting exactly as you describe.

That's fucking terrifying, and if that's the case it better only have one Plagas to hit cause I will shit bricks if I have to take multiple shots at it.

Fuck the hype is building, have to keep myself grounded here because everything seems to be looking... good?!

I'm still pissed about the nemesis remake and it took me years to get over how much I hated 5 compared to 4 so I'll still assume Capcom is guilty before innocent but have to say, the jury is wavering mighty hard lately.

One thing they better add that wasn't in the original is a costume for Leon that lets you keep the jacket throughout the whole game.

Regenerators in the OG had two (Normal and a version who had spikes coming out of them who tried to grab you and pull you into their spikes) also I think there was like 8 to 10 of them max in the OG, so I wonder if they're cutting down on the total number them and are making each encounter with them a unique mini boss or having them show up earlier to surprise returning players.

I have to admit, while im still of the mindset that RE4 doesnt need a remake, this is shaping up better than i thought so far

They're obsessed with facial scanning which is the first problem with NuCapcom.

Modern vidya industry has gotten really retarded with it recently with only using the same couple of people but it feels like Capcom has been about direct body work for a while. Especially if you look at all of the Rueben Langdon DMC mocap stuff

Regenerator-type enemies in horror games frighten me the most, especially during initial contact when I likely don't have the resources/special weapon to kill it. I'm interested to see how they're introduced.

I'm speaking more about everything using the RE Engine. There's always an element of uncanny valley with them, specifically Claire. Prior to these new games, the main cast was generally loosely based on existing people and idealized. Voth was the only one I remember they directly copied.

But they've been picking quite a bit that just look weird. Claire's face in the game did not match the actual girl and most people thinks she's ugly in that, and they would be right.

Underwear model guy that played Chris in RE7.

I thought the dude they got for Nikolai was really strange looking with his overly skinny celery stick head.

NuJill I think was too cromagnon looking.

The entire cast of DMCV is hideous.

I would prefer they just created faces instead of basing them directly from real people but instead they scout for the weirdest phenotypes half the time.
