Yeah that's a mistake on them. God forbid females are portrayed as completely helpless in the modern era.

I don't necessarily mind them changing her look but it's distracting how many layers of clothing were put on her and you just know immediately why they did it.

Of all the redesigns, I'm glad Leon is relatively the same. Although he's too babyfaced for this to be him 6 years later.

I don't mind these as long as they're actually extra content and stuff to do and not used as padding for the stuff that they supposedly aren't cutting. If the game lets you go back to previous areas at different times for rewards/additional exploration and there are new enemies around or interesting things to do that's all music to my ears but basically I just want as much content as possible and since this stuff is optional from the sounds of it, who cares gimme gimme.

But I never hated any part of 4 unlike apparently a ton of people who despised the island
 
Leon could use some roughing up, OG Leon had a handsome face, but the dude was cool and charming enough to pull off the badass monster killer vibe, new one looks too much like the baby faced amateur Leon in RE2make

Ashley on the other hand, its like some peeps said, for some reason devs are too scared of allowing a female character to be vulnerable, so im imagining something similar to FF7Remake Aerith, (Have i mentioned today how im not a damsel in distress?)

Everything is pozzed now.

They're obsessed with facial scanning which is the first problem with NuCapcom. But I remember there was articles saying they were going to tone down the dialogue as to what's said to Ashley. They also changed Ada's outfit entirely and it's more RE6 than anything to cover skin.

I had thought with the remake series starting up with RE2R that this could be a new golden age, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

I fear what they'd do to Code Veronica when that's the one that could really benefit from a remake and the core plot is based around a mentally ill troon, so they would butcher the fuck out of that.

"You crossdressing freak!" wouldn't happen in that.
 
I don't really mind Ashley's costume change, since it's basically a redesign from her Beta RE4 outfit (basically the jacket is now open instead of closed) so it's not some out of the blue change specifically for the current year, and for all we know she actually loses the jacket later in the game, the same thing happened with Ada in RE2make.

I would argue that Ashley has about as much charm as a cat in a burlap sack, but that's on the understanding that I don't think RE4 would even remotely be the same or objectively better without her. She, herself, is not a character with charm whatsoever, but, in spite of this, she manages to add an element of charm (and frustration in a lot of cases) to RE4 as a whole.

In essence, don't like her, but we wouldn't have the great game we have without her.

We already had one of those with the emblem hunt that got you a free gun if you got most of them and an extra upgrade for it if you got them all. I don't mind minor stuff like that so long as its just extra optional content and not a replacement for cut stuff.
 
I like they added an executioner. Dr. Salvador is too few and far between by himself. They've shown pretty much all the enemies you see in the village.

I'm glad to see the phase one Ganado tentacle heads. In that first trailer they had only showed some of that coming out of the guy's eye sockets when he grabbed Leon IIRC. I just hope they give us the other evolution's.

Ashley wasn't even completely helpless, she just wasn't much of a fighter. She holds her own pretty well for a twenty year old sorority girl thrust into a horrific and deadly situation. She also drives that fucking giant digger truck at the island and uses it to smash into shit. She's pretty cool. But modern media only considers a female character capable if she can shoot guns better than a man.
