They would do something akin to Resistance. Just arcady schlock.

Just upscale the originals and put all ten scenarios in one game and add mic support. I mean you can still play those games online through private fan servers. The community has been around since the console servers got yanked in 2013.
 
If we are talking locales for the next game I think dialing back the clock would be alright. With parasites being active centuries before the main games you could pretty easily do something set in the 1800s for novelty's sake, and old firearms would be great for slower paced survival horror gameplay.

Aside from that I feel like the next game is probably going to be set in a desert, Arizona or something, and crib it's monsters from American folklore.

I also think it is long past time Hunk gets his own game. They always dance around it in spinoffs or whatever, and have been slowly turning Chris into him, they might as well just pull the trigger on it and give us the Hunk game we all want.

I enjoy the idea of Arizona being the setting. I lived in Tucson and nights in the desert are extremely fucking crazy. Plenty of urban legends to crib from, plus out in the desert there's plenty of abandoned mines and shit. There's plenty of land for a hidden bio weapons facility and you can take our urban legends as escaped BOW's. Ruby Valley beasts, skinwalkers, wendigos, all of it is ripe for the taking. Give me some wendigo kino.

I believe RE5 has most of it. Except it takes place in Africa.
 
Honestly, I'm not sure if we'll get RE9 right after the RE4 remake. Part of me thinks we'll get yet another remake or a shitty online game if RE4 remake does well enough.

If we do get RE9, I'm interested in seeing a setting we haven't seen in an RE game, like the foggy moors, decrepit bogs, and windswept hills of the British Isles.

We’ll probably get two remakes before we get RE9. It could be RE1 remake remake, CV remake, or, dear lord, RE5 remake.

Why do I say two remakes? Because two remakes between RE7 and 8.

The fact this is even being seriously considered shows how awfully spoiled and dumb the fanbase has gotten. At least when they inevitably fuck that one up, there's always the real remake that had the same director as the original.

Oh I know it is. Go into any Youtube comment thread or any gaming message board still around and this is seriously being wanted.

RE3 was the main one I wanted to see get remade and they thoroughly destroyed that one. I love REmake but at least that one was done right and didn't chop shit out from the original. So the inevitable redundant remake of that will cut as many corners as the previous two and probably RE4, I won't really care. I'm more looking forward to the mental gymnastics on trying convey it somehow outdoes REmake. Every single shot in REmake can be used as a press photo on how strong the direction was in it in comparison to the original.

This is why I like the old games over the new, since even the camera angle sets the mood. Seeing the stuff coming a mile away isn't interesting to me.

Oh yeah, I mean REmake is one of, and probably the best Resident Evil game ever made. It doesn’t need a remake because it aged incredibly well. And they would probably use that ugly ass face for Jill from r3make.
 
Capcom potentially keeping Jill subjectively unattractive would be the least of my concerns.

I'd be more worried about Capcom retroactively assassinating Chris' character further. They already did as much with Leon in that Netflix CGI show, and they seem to have been intent on making Chris increasingly retarded ever since RE5 and onward.

I like the plot more than most of the series but it's gameplay is a real slog and the backtracking is done poorly. It almost feels like Dino Crisis's engine was the beta run for CV's.

I like the backtracking being a pain in the ass. If you dont save the fire extinguisher or go back to the prison you miss a lot lol. I like punishing players. Not all that handholding BS.
I dont know which engine was used but the fixed yet movement tracking camera was in Parasite Eve and Dino Crisis too.
