Middling at best. From Socialblade:

Other than an inexplicable spike towards the end of 2024, his subscriber growth and view counts have remained pretty flat since 2023. Daily views are hovering pretty consistently between 40-60k. The spikes don't correspond much with videos being uploaded. Viewership for his new reviews are completely in the toilet:

Of the last 16 videos uploaded, only the hilariously aptly named "Car Reviews Are Out of Touch" topped 100k views. Honestly, I don't think these or his lazy YouTube shorts are where most of his views come from anymore. I have to imagine the lion's share of his views these days are actually coming from his humongous back catalogue of nearly 2,000 videos. ~302,000ish views from all the uploaded videos of the last two weeks doesn't come close to covering the ~850,000 or so views of the last two weeks.

So i finally got a yt short from rcr, where he says don't buy a corvette, buy a holden monaro/pontiac gto. Why? Because if you own a corvette your considered old and that the gto is a more practical car (here's his reasons, powertrain modding ie; turbo's supercharges and prochargers fit better, parking it and not having old people swarm your car)
ok then Brian, let's talk about the downsides to owning a gto in the usa; A: the car is considered rare, underappreciated, and is expensive for a used car compared to something like a c3, c4, c5 corvette or Gen 2, 3, and 4 camaro or firebird. And B: Being that parts for holden's (other than drivetrain parts) are rare, why would anyone wanna own one in the United States; you mentioned this in the Chevy caprice ppv video that holden parts are hard to come by. So why would I wanna own a gto or a g8 or a caprice ppv or a chevy ss other than for its rarity as a austraian import for the United States.

What's with the massive spike? Also is it just me or did they start to crash and burn after he came out as a faggot and a furry? Furthermore, how much do you think he's making from youtube alone? I know he privated/deleted his oldest and most funny videos because they were "offensive" (like that wasn't the fucking point of them???)

They are realy bad

Small cars would make a lot of sense for a lot of drivers. Unfortunately, they remain a tough sell.
I couldn't see Americans wanting a car any smaller than a Honda Fit. Whilst it appears to have sold OK, it was never going to sell in similar numbers to the Civic or Accord.

Kei cars have absolute no chance in the US.

Thread tax: I wish Roman would spin Car Stories off onto its own channel. I enjoy his videos but I don't want give that whiny Mr. Regular furfag the satisfaction of regaining by subscription. Yeah, I tapped out as soon as he started putting troons in his videos a couple of years back.

That, and his fellow American CarTubers all have a chubby for the GTO/SS.

To be fair, the Commodore and Monaro were two of the best cars produced by GM anywhere in the world at the time, but that was a pretty low bar. And sure, there's still a healthy spare parts and aftermarket scene in Australia. But the spares will eventually dry up, especially things such as panels and whatnot, as Commodore drivers are Australia's Mustang drivers.

Then there's the expense of getting the parts over to the other side of the Pacific. It's not so bad now that Yanks can buy one Dollarydoo for around 2/3rds of a Freedom Buck, but if/when the USD and AUD hit parity again like it did in the mid '10s, costs will go through the roof.

The main saving grace is at least you can pick up LS parts and engine mods from just about anywhere, so it's not like a GTO owner would be in as much pain parts-wise as some Ford nut who puts a Barra in a Fox body Mustang or something

Even though RCR sucks now, I still laugh at that time Brian and Roman riffed on "Tommy Fenstimacher" for like 5 minutes straight during the Toyota Avalon review. They can be funny. Or at least they could 4 years ago.

A sample:

Given how back-up cameras are pretty standard on new cars
They are legally required on all new cars sold in the U.S. since May of 2018. They are basically the new third brake light.

I'm still annoyed that I can't find my copy of the RX8 review. TRIANGLES!!!
That got taken down? Do you know why? That was one of the better ones.

It's still on his channel (for now).

Turns out I was wrong on two counts, the RX8 review is certainly still up, and the review that he deleted* that I wish I could find is indeed the Dodge Avenger review.

*He deleted some of his early videos because they were "too edgy" (i.e. cringe, and he's not completely wrong about that).

Are you sure it was because it's cringe, or is it because he may have said things that he now considers politically or socially unpalatable?

I'm just saying, he wouldn't be the first person to say some based things, then regret them as he turns into a homosexual furfag (usually trooning out is involved too, but maybe he'll avoid that one).

I recall a lot of his early content being pretty entertaining. Way better than it is now.

Does he still publicly complain on Twitter?

Oh I don't know; I haven't watched his stuff in years. If he traded in the Falcon, that's surprising, because I remember him being on the verge of tears when he was told it wouldn't be ready to drive in time or something. It was his first face reveal video.
He traded in the falcon years ago. In retrospect, it marked the transition away from the guy doing a fun thing for the love of it to chasing approval and trying to be correct. Post-falcon RCR turned into a constant whine about how unfair everything is, in between gooning over increasingly bizarre niche cars, teasing furry degeneracy, and picking up hitchhikers. I much preferred the RCR that reviewed the Jeep Cherokee and its fat sister.

Of course, the signs were there even then. Daddy issues out the wazoo.

Daddy issues? Try ANYTHING that smelled slightly right of center. What's fascinating for me is that he suddenly just becomes very self-conscious and afraid of everything. Where would that even come from?

No idea.

I actually like the fact he's been doing weird Kei vehicles and rare imports.

What I don't like is they are often owned by weirdo furries and troons, and I have to suffer through them.
