It's possible but they don't do anything that would ever get them kicked off the platform. It does bring to light just how much their entire business hinges on 1 single platform. It's never good to have all your eggs in 1 basket. I'm not really sure how they could remedy that though. We saw game grumps do that with all their little spin off businesses and it all sucks. But they really should have some sort of exit plan in place. They have a studio and editing experience, they could make something work.
Originally, their videos were on Blip.tv too. It's just that Youtube won out and now all their website links are now redirects to Youtube.

Based on their quick and mild political opining, Mike strikes me as casually unwoke. He’s looks like the kid with the pen in his mouth thinking out loud.
I suspect Jay is utterly disinterested and shuns politics. He’s the kid who just wants to get the homework done.
My memory ain’t what it used to be so I may have them flipped.
I think its the opposite. Jay is the one who is unwoke but still thinks his political opinions matter just based on some of the comments he's made in videos. In the Borat HITB review he explicitly says he doesn't like Rudy Guliani and defends Cohen mostly interviewing ignorant Southerners to make fun of them, and in a recent video he made a Trump joke saying "His whole business is lying" which everyone laughed at. Jay has political opinions but is smart enough to keep his mouth shut on his more outrageous views.

Mike seems more apathetic towards politics. His persona is partially a cynical world weary man who hates everything and that might reflect his views on politics, he just doesn't care and drinks to deal with all the stupidity he sees. He's the older and wiser of the two who has seen it all and just wants to get drunk. Of course this all might be completely inaccurate to who they are in reality but the personas they present online show them as apathetic to politics as a whole outside of a few dises.

Same thing happened with TGWTG where they hosted their videos on Blip because Blip apparently paid you more for views or were less restrictive on copyrights, can't remember. I still need to see their Warm Bodies review that was apparently lost in the switch.

Best of the worst these days is missing some of the joie de vivre it had for a long time

I think part of it is theyve gone through a significant amount of movies on it now and there's less stuff available that has good comedy value no matter how big their collection is

Stop injecting politics into everything.

How do they factor into what they're doing exactly?
Politics have been bleeding into their content for a while now and it's onlly going to become more prevelent. And if you don't care then whatever, good for you, but I personally can't turn off the part of my brain that points out the hypocrisy of their edgelord humour and their simultaneous woke pandering.

In the 4 years of Trump's presidency, they made fun of him like 3 or 4 times. Twice on Mike & Rich talk about Star Trek, the one Jay instance mentioned before, and probably on Pre-Rec. Hell, in the Gremlins 2 review, they would've actually had an excuse to lay into him but avoided it. Same thing in the WW84 review, with its lame villain.
And what fucking woke pandering? That they enjoyed Promising Young Woman despite their review's intro being "I was worried that this movie would be complete shit from the premise, but it turned out to be really fucking weird."

You are the most emotionally fragile people on the planet.
I could listen to my good old pal smegmaking insult niggers, kikes, women and liberals till the cows come home despite the fact that I get along with all of those groups, because he's fucking funny. I couldn't care less if he's a Trump voter or if he's a civil war larper because I don't base my enjoyment of things on whether or not they share my personal values.

I assume their exit strategy is basically to go back producing content for paying customers. Possibly bringing back Red Letter Weddings as well.

Isn't most of their money from Patreon, anyways? I'm sure they could figure out another way to host their stuff for their supporters on that if it really came down to it.

I thought it was pretty obvious that they kinda liked Trump as a weirdo with potential at the start then didnt like him near the end as a weirdo who didnt fulfill that potential which is a very mainstream view so deal with it

Tell content creators and people in the entertainment industry to do that first.

Also, there's a huge difference between merely disagreeing with someone politically and seeing the person salivating over the fact that someone got fired and "unpersoned/canceled" because of said-disagreements.

Yeah, it's crazy how the homos don't know shit about classic '70s, '80s, and '90s flicks because the Hollywood political culture at the time tended to make fun of them so they boycotted the movies. Oh, wait, no, fags and dykes alike watched movies mocking them and got over themselves. And nowadays there is so much content to consoom out there which is wholly apolitical, and you people scour every avenue you can to whine about how you're no longer beyond cultural reproach and some popular garbage makes fun of you, I swear.

RLM is not even Hollywood. It's some fat guys in Milwaukee who find other fat guys to talk about movies starring fat people. People are trying to analyze the political persuasions of the gang and their pals to see whether it's politically kosher or not to enjoy shit made by them. You have to go out of your way to find any of this shit out - that is why it is called inserting politics into everything. They made 3 or 4 milquetoast comments about Trump on the show. This isn't that shitty Watchmen "spiritual successor."

If you don't want to watch their shit because they still keep in contact with Jim, whatever man, do it. Just don't pretend that you're different from a troon that shrieks at everything Rowling touches. Twitter gives you the opportunity, not the obligation, to learn that entertainers are as retarded as anyone else.
This again opposed to just getting tired of their style of humor or content, which is way more whatever - nothing's fresh forever.

Wow, it's like you didn't read my post.

Again, I said there was a difference between political differences and acting like an asshole about said-political differences. This ain't rocket science, chief.

And nowhere have I said that I would stop watching RLM just because of their ties to Jim, I just said I wouldn't watch the videos that he may appear in sometime in the future.

"Shut up and consooooom" is basically what you are saying here, right?

Again, I said there was a difference between political differences and acting like an asshole about said-political differences.
You would have no idea he said anything remotely of that nature unless you went out of your way to learn about it. I have to throw in his twitter and scroll through a bunch of generic liberal tweets to even remotely get close to that shit: you went looking for it. Entertainers and media personalities are not moral paragons and what they think about shit doesn't matter.

Somehow jews can watch Mel Gibson and blacks can watch Michael Richards, and anyone that kvetches about their racy comments made in broad public spaces is a damn SJW. But heaven forbid that Jim hate conservatives.
I just said I wouldn't watch the videos that he may appear in sometime in the future.
Notwithstanding that I think that shows emotional fragility on its own, other people have suggested that RLM's even staying in contact with him is a damning black spot.
And yes, a jew that boycotts Gibson and a black that boycotts Richards are also fragile, even if Jim is some ginger "literally who" compared to them. When I say 'art from artist,' I don't just mean it when the guy's on 'my side.'
So as long as you never, ever use that phrase, you're being consistent.

More along the lines of 'stop going out of your way to look for reasons to be angry and dislike something.' Also,
Stop injecting politics into everything.

The authoritarian asshat posted those tweets publicly. Not my fault I stumbled upon them through browsing on this forum.

I care to not support an individual who wants someone like me to be unpersoned over political differences. I'm not the asshole-- he is. Sorry not sorry. He's the one who made it political first, my dude. Why not send him a few tweets to tell him to stop making everything political? I'm sure he'll be totally understanding and not jack off over his block button at all.

Stop getting so assmad over people criticizing a jackass who appears on RLM every so often. lol. You are clearly white knighting them because you're a big fan, which I can understand to a certain degree. I love RLM-- it's my favorite channel on YouTube, hands down. However, I don't want to watch anything that includes Jim anymore. I'll watch the other guys happily as long as they don't also become asshats. It's not like Jim made the BOTW episodes more entertaining anyway. We all watch RLM for Mike, Jay, and Rich.

I don't think this is the case.
Then they're pussies.
The authoritarian asshat posted those tweets publicly.
An act which did precisely nothing to affect the individual's firing, because Jim has no power to affect that.
If someone gets gravely offended that a conservative is publicly gloating on social media when a socjus retard gets fired, they're just as emotionally frail. A good number of content creators were gloating when the Missouri I NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE bimbo got shitcanned, something I don't personally think was merited. But I don't fucking care, because I don't turn to them for approval of my position in the kulturkrieg.
I'm not the asshole-- he is.
I was calling you fragile, not an asshole. If your asshole is fragile, seek medical attention.
He's the one who made it political first, my dude.
Not in any of the actual content or work he's put out on the channel. Again, you'd have never known if not for the fact that people went out of their way to find it, went out of their way to call attention to it. He would have just been boring and uninteresting otherwise.
Why not send him a few tweets to tell him to stop making everything political?
Just as soon as he does, I'll make a twitter and do it. Twitter's fucking cancer and he's done nothing in any of the content worth looking at to give a damn about. Dunno if you've noticed, but the world would be a better place if no one gave a shit about social media. I do my part by actually not giving a shit.
Stop getting so assmad over people criticizing a jackass who appears on RLM every so often.
I had a session last night of going back and forth with a guy insisting HE wasn't mad, I was mad last night. This approach doesn't really work.
If you can't separate art from artist, I think that's weak. Jim is boring and the Re:View of strange brew would have probably been more fun with Colin.
You are clearly white knighting them because you're a big fan, which I can understand to a certain degree.
If you think the content sucks or has dried out, I've consistently taken no issue with that. It never gets old for me, but it hits a perfect combination of wry humor with people just enthusiastically talking about things they enjoy.
It's the "I don't like them/him because of their/his politics" thing that I think is cancer in every single form, in every single medium, in every single instance.

It'd be different if this was a case like where Tim Heidecker pulled strings to kick Sam Hyde off of AS - that was gay shit. I haven't looked at Heidecker's shit as much since, though I still think he's sometimes funny. Similarly, if Mel was actually a genuine member of the American Nazi Party or if Kramer was a wizard in the KKK -- but none of those are the case.

Why do you guys care so much about their political opinions?
How do they factor into what they're doing exactly?
They're neckbeard nerds who laugh at bad movies and make dumb skits.

Everything has gotten so politicized that even one of the least political channels on Youtube has to go through an internet purity test.
Chill out, guys.
Same thing we're all here for, drama. Politics is just one of the many things to shitpost about.
