I know it's fun to gossip sometimes, but this particular line is getting old fast.

While it seemed like you were trying your damndest to beat my average wordcount in these stupid posts, you've got a point on this one. As I said above, the whole thing is probably just my paranoia.

I mean its completely possible we'll see on the news that Mike blew his brains out or something without warning and that's just how the whole program ends. But I think Jack is the likeliest to be the failure point here. Could be tomorrow, could be ten years from now. I dunno, but he's dicking with stuff the internet generally considers haram and we know he has the ability to make Best of the Worst self-destruct like the USS Enterprise.

Would he?

....ehhh, probably not. I guess.

I touched a nerve, I guess, but it didn't take much effort. Which is pretty amusing to me atm. Not interested in a fight, just stating my point and then contributing to other parts of the conversation. I had a little time after coming home today, what can I say?

Happy New Year! Kiss someone sexy and get drunk with someone cool.

Even when I disagree with RLM, I at least get the sense we saw the same movie.

I often get the vibe that while we saw the same movie, they were looking at their phones most of the time, at least during HITB. They made a joke about it in their Suicide Squad video, but it really seems like more and more they miss shit that they really shouldn't have. Jay has been especially awful in this regard.

While I didn't see that movie or it's rlm review, I think the onus is on the film makers to make more coherent movies with a consistent level of plot importance.

For instance the question "why are the characters going over here to do this, why did their goal change" shouldn't be answered with "well if you were paying attention a character from off screen had an adr'd line to cover up a plot hole" Sure if you were into the movie you would catch it, but someone who didn't care could've missed it just brain farting about their grocery list

Big popcorn movies push you away from the details with pounding music and explosions, grabbing your senses by force, but not in the way a "film" would by pulling you and your senses closer so you can notice the details, which makes those details fair game to announce plot points.

Being more conscious of this would help, but honestly I think them trying to tie up plot holes at all is really just a response to the world of youtube tear down vids and its no different in the end from how it used to be done, which was to just not bother since little kids and non-nerds don't care or notice anyway.

while that may be true, then the criticism should be about that, not "lol that character had no goal". why even bother watching their videos when they themselves can't be arsed to watch stuff they wanna discuss properly? watching jay make stupid statements only to be corrected makes his opinion pretty worthless in general.

To clarify, by "stupid posts" I meant every internet post ever because who's going to remember this shit in ten days, let alone even a year or two from now?

Thanks for the kind regards anyway.

I prefer the one from the Wolf of Wallstreet HIB decided to rewatch it and realized I forgot anyway, but its the one where Mike tears the calendar off but nobody clipped it so...

I think people watch the half in the bags on mainstream shlock mainly for the comedic insight on the industry as a whole, and rlm fans have an idea of what the guys actually care about and what to expect out of different episodes.
ie: a Cats review wouldn't be going over the detailed differences between the play and the movie, it would probibly focus on the shit show of the production and the general movie going experience of watching people jeer and cheer at the weird sexualized parts.

I'm sure there ARE rlm Fantano Fags who take EVERYTHING seriously and mold their opinions off of unresearched off the cuff personality driven internet reviews. But I think a generous chunk of rlm viewers arn't there for the opinions but just as fellow voyeuristic movie industry nihilists.

you're right, it's ok if it's just "ironic". I mean, who cares, lol? :story:

In regards to Jack, he pops up on reddit from time to time. People ping his account u/harlack about bringing back prerec or when he will be on the show next and he always states it isn't up to him. Not even a little bit. I just checked and they did it to him again recently because these people are laboring under the delusion Jack has pull and he said it's literally just a text he gets sometimes where he is asked when he's free to film. Jack is at the mercy of whatever Mike and Jay want. He shows up when asked but can't ask his way in. Yet Culk can show up whenever he pleases and pick his own Re:view. Makes me feel a little bad that Jack has to settle for an Escapist gig and rubbing elbows with loathed internet nobodies Allison Pregler and Bob Chipman. But I don't think there will ever be a falling out. Mike doesn't seem like the type to trust easy and they haven't brought any non celebrity fresh faces into the show basically ever. Every one of their orbiter members has been their friend since the early 2000s and was in other projects of theirs. They kick Jack out they literally only have Josh and the Canadians. It's not worth it. Don't forget Mike fucked Jay's crush and they hated each other so badly Mike dipped out to Arizona to get away from him for a year and look at them now. I'm not sure Jack can do anything to be permanently kicked out.

Did some additional browsing of the RLM sub and found that someone mentioned that they made a comment on Patreon that hints to no more Fuck You It's January videos. Because they don't think that studio dumping in January is a thing anymore. But I thought they hadn't done one in a while anyway?

It's because it's Fuck You It's Forever now.
