They explicitly said the prequels are still shit in their HitB on tRoS. And they're right.
no one said prequels aren't, but they're like kim kardashian, if you say that there's a big but coming. which is the same fallacy RLM kinda fell for with the plinkett reviews, at least those are not meant to be taken entirely serious (as if the plinkett bits didn't give it away), but some people did to the point it spawned a whole lot of "critics" with the same formula.
to put it simple: if the prequels are "just shit movies", how the fuck did TFA make 2 billion dollars 10 years later?

Edit: I never noticed it before, but damn if Mike's old avatar wasn't cringey af. It reminds me of that old avatar Armoured Skeptic had, complete with Fedora! GODDAMN, Mike! I am officially Team Jay for that era, beta-orbiter or not, based on that pic alone!

So the biggest "drama" that can be found about the RLM dudes is that they did stupid shit in college and their early 20s. How shocking and unique! /sarc

Real lolcows on the internet wish this was all that could be dug up about their past (and present, let's be real).

The funniest thing about this is how sad Gilchrist is. He thought he had something spicy to reveal to the internet. He's a pathetic ex-girlfriend type, I guess.

Oh, definitely! I still find that picture hilarious though.

Edit: Also, if you read some of the emails Gilchrist leaked, he came across as a clingy ex to Mike. Literally telling him that he loved him and shit. And if you watch the Gorilla, Interrupted documentary.... so, so much cringe.

So he tried to homewreck one the greatest romances of our time, Mike Stoklasa and Rich Evans?

What a piece of shit.

The lesser romance, Mike Stoklasa and Jay Bauman. It was over the Lisa thing and Gilchrist was all, "I don't want to take Jay's side, because I love you, Man!"

He's not a complete monster.

That about sums it up but a lot of the details of the falling out were in the email leaks between Lisa and Gilchrist. Mike's weird fedora pic is a still from one of his early movies. Can't remember which one though.

So this means no Plinkett review of Mando then?

I'm sad but also extra sad that I'll have to buy Disney Plus to see this wonderful series.
Or...

Probably a controversial opinion, but I'd be happy if we never see another Plinkett Star Wars review. I'd prefer it if, instead of that, they roll out Plinkett for Box Office bombs. The Ghostbusters one was underrated and easily one of the best. I am a fan of the non-Star Wars Plinkett reviews in general.

*please do CATS.

If they ever do another SW Plinkett review it will be passive agressive towards the fans (especially now that Mike's shilling for JJ and Disney has bitten him in the ass), like when they wasted 3/4 of the TFA review talking about some obscure Prequel theories instead of the actual movie.

I've never understood all the hate for the whole Plinkett Ring Theory.
After all Mike was just ahead of the curve when it comes to subverting expectations™

tbf The Force Awakens is too milquetoast to really get worked up at. I rather have him make fun of obsessive fans and stupid shit like ring theories than waste his time going in circles over a whole lot of nothing that TFA was.

The Ghostbusters review has this undercurrent of anger in it. I remember not finding it too funny, especially compared to the HitB review where they're getting shitfaced off skull vodka and ecto coolers.

Didn't Gilchrist himself say the majority of this post was bullshit and this amounts to an internet urban legend? Even that post itself notes that the exact scenario is the plot to one of Jay's short films from the era. Jay and Mike clearly had some kind of falling out but I firmly believe we still don't know the actual reason for it. Mike probably just thought Jay was too pretentious at the time which Jay kind of half admits to during the Gorilla Interrupted documentary.

While we're discussing RLM urban legends, does anyone have that video of a white guy beating the shit out of a black dude that started a rumor that Mike was a racist?
