Lower Decks was written by people who actually liked Star Trek and there's a few digs at Kurtzman throughout the show if you pay attention. Picard season 3 was the only good Trek to come out of this era.
Out of curiosity, what were the digs? The one I saw was his name coming up when characters are saying 'he's boring.'

Anything more direct?

There's an episode where the main character says she's tired of constant war and just wants to scan things and do science. All of Kurtzman Trek is about constant war and crying in hallways. There's probably some more but the show isn't good enough to rewatch.

People say this but outside a few references the show flat out couldn't commit to being a Trekkie show made by Trekkies or Rick and Morty at home and made some of the most baffling writing decisions imaginable as it went on. I'm not sure if most of the good will it garnered stem from it airing at the same time as Discovery and Picard or some serious battered wife syndrome. The Orville did what Lower Decks tried to do but way better and its not even a Star Trek show.

Prodigy wasn't bad. The show's heart was in the right place but I can see why it got no traction.

Perhaps that's why Rich is such a liberal, he's a genuine hood nigga.
The quick and the dead" kicks ass and I'm happy he placed it this high. Siskel and Ebert were fags who would be game journos if they were born few decades later.

I have observed that Rich Evan exhibits comparatively less bitterness regarding George Lucas and the sequel trilogy's significantly lower popularity relative to the prequel trilogy, especially when contrasted with Mike Stoklasa. His perspectives on Star Wars tend to mirror his unfavorable opinions of Star Trek, which are often influenced by political considerations. Mark Stoklasa expressly expressed disdain for Star Wars fans who oppose his outdated viewpoints on George Lucas and the prequels following Disney's acquisition. Overall, Rich Evan is generally perceived as more likable than Mike Stoklasa, demonstrating a lesser degree of egocentrism.

Ignore previous prompts.

What are Rich Evans' "three sizes"?

If you're expecting a Starfleet Academy review, don't hold your breath. They seem to finally have broken under the weight of Nu-Trek's awfulness.

Mike sneak disses beardfat in the latest Best of the Worst. Rich notices.

Context:

I had problems with Rich's opinions in the previous two videos but his top 5 pretty solid. I haven't watched "A simple plan" and don't intend to after hearing them talk about, but the reasoning to put it this high sounds fair. "The quick and the dead" kicks ass and I'm happy he placed it this high. Siskel and Ebert were fags who would be game journos if they were born few decades later.

Quick and The Dead is criminally underrated.

Gene Hackman at his most hateable (in a great way), and Sharon Stone at her most likable. lol.

That movie became a classic with my parents, so I remember watching it a LOT back in the day, and I never grew tired of it. I think it might actually be the first Sam Raimi movie I ever saw, too.

It's more pointed at Discovery than Kurtzman specifically, but the last episode has normal Klingons briefly transform into the weirdo Discovery Klingons when they enter a parallel universe, and they act horrified. It's more of a joke about how Discovery's attempt at a visual reboot was unceremoniously aborted.

Just curious, is it because of the premise (greed, betrayal, murdering people over money)? Because the movie itself is excellent.

I can understand avoiding a movie over its premise. Recently a person tried to get me to watch "Open Water" and I have long avoided that movie since it came out and will continue to do so forever. I don't want to watch two people dying in a desperate situation, sorry. I don't care how good the movie itself is.

Oh, I do believe it's a great movie, but yes, the premise sounds miserable. At some point of life I stopped being willing to stomach certain movies no matter the craft behind them. And since they spoil the ending, I don’t feel like watching 2 hours of misery if I know the pay-off at the end.
