"The Unforgiven"

Fuck. No way. No way he just said that.

I give up. Rich never fails to enrage. He's retarded. He was raised by his grandmother because his parents gave him up, and he's retarded.

God damn...

Rich's favorite movie is The Aliens (1987, James Cameron)

Babbling idiot. Total babbling idiot. I am genuinely angry at the moment, as you can probably tell.

Maybe Rich is just a big Metallica and/or Audrey Hepburn fan.

I guess since Mike didn't edit this one there wasn't a bigger focus made on it, but he does this all the fucking time.

What's the story there? I always thought he looked a little FASsy. Could he have been taken away from his parents as a small child?

I've calmed down. Christian forgiveness dictates that I grant leeway to tongue-tied, motor-mouthed spazzes from Chicago.

Anyway. As far as Rich's early life, this is what I know:

- He says he was "raised by grandma" on several occasions
- He discussed his mother's love of horror movies on at least two occasions with Jay
- He called his father on father's day once on Pre Rec (2014-2018) and it's implied that they had a stable relationship
- He has at least two sisters; one of which is a weeaboo and travels to Japan on a regular basis
- His fiance is the legendarily oblivious Karin, who likes to talk about Twilight novels while nuclear war is conducted outside

Now why Rich apparently knew his mother+father and was raised by his grandmother...I dunno. Apparently he has a complicated life story, and we may never get to the bottom of it.

Now as to why he refers to 'Unforgiven' as 'The Unforgiven'...FUCK NOW I'M ANGRY AGAIN JUST THINKING ABOUT IT

I never saw The Quick and the Dead. Like they said, Siskel and Ebert declared the movie was crap. Also, Sharon Stone was kind of seen as a joke at that time following her awful movie Sliver.
Westerns really aren't my thing, but maybe I should check it out.

The Quick and the Dead was a regular Blockbuster VHS rental in my house when I was a kid. A very good movie.

I agree that a person can't watch A Simple Plan more than once. I think I've seen it twice. It's kinda brutal.

The scene at the end where Jane Fonda or whatever the fuck her name is, is going back to her job stocking bookshelves has always stuck with me.

Rich's parents may've been too young when they had him (or were otherwise unfit at the time), causing his grandmother to be his primary caregiver. It happens a lot in lower class families, especially amongst blacks; the parents are technically still in the picture but the grandparents end up doing all the heavy lifting. Perhaps that's why Rich is such a liberal, he's a genuine hood nigga.

In the topic of Rich's weird ass takes on movies, i remember in one of their commentary fan-highlights he said something about how in The Lion King the Simba growing up with Timon and Pumba montage during the Hakuna Matata part was skipping part of Simba's character arc. It's been a while since i watched that that i don't remember which video it was.

When did we stop using the phrase "white trash"?

It was actually a pretty entertaining movie, although I think another point against it is that the mini-Western renaissance of the 90s (Tombstone, Unforgiven, Dances With Wolves, Legends of the Fall and then Western-adjacent films like City Slickers and The Cowboy Way all came out pretty much one after another) was kinda winding down at that point which I think also hurt it.

Shame, because it was a fun popcorn flick.

Pretty sure everybody predicted Evil Dead 2 as 1# but its well deserved and I love how they highlight Bruce Campbell's performances throughout all his appearances in the ranking which seems timely given the recent news. I want to watch The Quick and the Dead after seeing the cast list and the glowing recommendation from Rich not sure why such a crazy film flew under everyone's radar. I fully understand why Rich would not want to watch A Simple Plan again it is such a hard to watch movie regardless of how good it is.

Pretty damn sure in those email leaks a decade or so ago that it mentioned Rich's parents were addicts when he was a kid.
That’s what I’ve always heard. It ties in with Rich not drinking as well. I don’t think they have ever said anything explicit, but I feel like the other guys have cracked jokes at the expense of Rich’s parents before.

I remember there being some episode of BotW where Mike was trashed and something comes up in the discussion that makes him want to make a joke about one of Rich's relatives, I think maybe his mother? He turns to Jay and whispers that he held himself back from saying it and Jay says something back like "I'm glad you did".

Does anyone else remember this? I've no idea which episode and I'm probably remembering the details wrong but that was basically what happened, some allusion to Rich's family being fucked up.

I remember that, but I can't recall which video it was from. I just assumed that it was a standard "yo mamma" type of joke, but knowing the possibility that Rich may have come from a dysfunctional family makes it seem a bit darker.

Rich talks about the CIA trying to make a dolphin fall in love with a woman who gave the dolphin a handjob and Mike tells Jay he was going to joke: "Rich, don't tell stories about your mom."

What leaks? The only spicy gossip I've ever heard about RLM was stupid, made up stuff posted on 4chan.
IIRC Some other guy in the short film competition scene who dealt with the RLM guys occasionally had his own email server, and someone on 4chan managed to find every one of his emails years after the fact. I think his name was Garret.
