I can't believe that nobody here mentioned how that Blink Twice movie was so fucking high on Mike's list when that movie had an even more ridiculous premise than Don't Worry Darling which he tore apart a couple years ago, and essentially shows its entire hand (save for an overall pointless twist) in the first 10 seconds of the movie when it literally starts off with a fucking trigger warning for sexual assault and rape, at least when I saw it in theaters. Gee, all the women don't seem to remember what happened the previous night and plenty of them are bruised up at various points, IF ONLY YOU DIDN'T INDICATE TO ME WHAT CHANNING TATUM AND THE REST OF THE MEN ON THE ISLAND WERE MOST LIKELY DOING EACH GODDAMN NIGHT IN THE FIRST 10 SECONDS OF THE MOVIE, FOLLOWED UP BY OPENING WITH HIM DOING AN OBVIOUSLY INSINCERE APOLOGY VIDEO.

Just remember that outside of American pop movies and indie horror schlock (and forgotten Italian horror movies that no one even in Italy cares about nowadays) their knowledge of proper movies is incredibly limited. Remember that when they saw The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (in 2022) they were moved to tears by the sheer quality of it. I always felt that their knowledge was kind of poor but....

They're the kind of people that will watch endless garbage on streaming sites instead of classics of European or Asian cinema
Reminder that Mike is content to never go to theaters and will actually pay money on Vudu to watch pure trash from Blumhouse like AfrAId or Imaginary, and the few times he actually does go to the theaters for a Half in the Bag it's to watch sequel slop like Indiana Jones, Alien Romulus, or Beetlejuice Beetlejuice because they're sequels to shit he watched when he was growing up. He won't watch the 1% of actually good stuff that hits streaming this year like Hundreds of Beavers or catch up on old shit he never saw, but he'll waste his time watching bottom of the barrel horror.

As of this edit: 200 points (62% upvoted) Seems like most of you get the point.
We are not trying to "protect Jay" He doesn't read this nonsense and probably wouldn't care if he did.
If this was about Jessie or Gillian and not a male RLM member, it would be treated differently.

I just watched the Horror Movies part 2 video and I am miffed. How do you (justifiably) bitch and moan about Blumhouse and then praise a faggy, neutered American remake by Blumhouse of one of the most based films in recent years? Please watch the original Speak No Evil.

Also, Jay continues to seem very attuned to trans shit. The whole discussion about I Saw the Tranny Glow was cringe. I haven't watched The Substance, but I really didn't like Revenge, so I don't know if I'll give it a shot.

I'm starting to think these guys are hack frauds! (The Omen prequel seems surprisingly interesting tho)

Funny how Mike tried to direct the discussion toward a whole "the movie is open to interpretation" angle only for Jay to immediately rebuke him with THE GROSS TRANNY DIRECTOR SAID SO. (I may be paraphrasing.)

Patreon Update:

Hello! We've got a couple videos we're currently editing and a whole bunch of other ones planned to hopefully shoot before the end of the year. One that's currently being edited and most likely the next to come out is a new trivia video. This time it's Best of the Worst trivia - Rich vs. Mike! We also have a video that may be out somewhat soon? I think? It was shot a while back and has been on the backburner for a bit but it's the final video we shot while Jack Quaid was in town, which is a re:View of Galaxy Quest with him and Mike. Coming soon-ish!

I am honestly surprised it took Mike this long to make a video about Galaxy Quest with literally anybody given how much he adores old Star Trek. Shame Rich won't be in it, but I like Jack in the two Best of the Worst episodes so it shouldn't be too bad I don't think.

Please be advised that haus is a gross tranny. His gargoyle face decided to troon out this year.

View attachment 6656709

So when he's talking about lesbians, he means other mentally ill men who troon out but still like women.
I don't go looking for it but I see sometimes, on Twitter, Haus of Decline is either posting about sex or being a troon every day (he'd probably burst into flames if he couldn't) and in between that, like every other tranny on Twitter he posts these shots that are supposed to be showing off how beautiful "she" is that give me Jame Gumb modelling his womanskin suit while dancing to "Goodbye Horses" vibes.

I like having RLM on in the background because they have a good rapport and it's nice to listen to, but their horror wrap up was so full of awful opinions that I couldn't even have it on as background noise.

To add to the previous point: Mike and Jay are, ironically, "I clapped when I saw it" filmmakers; who fawn over the kinds of scenes they pretend are realizable within the scope of their own meager talents. Mike's and Jay's appreciation is always filtered through some faggoty, existential bootstrap paradox in which they believe they were born too late to be the kinds of filmmakers who specifically inspired and influenced their own sensibilities.
It's important to realize that their favorite films are, for Mike, shitty but entertaining drive-in trash and, for Jay, shitty but interestingly-filmed Italian trash. I don't know about Rich but I assume his tastes are similar to Mike and who cares what literally anybody else on the show thinks.

It's also important to keep in mind that they are not you and possess different opinions from you. They may be uninformed regarding these opinions but that isn't going to change them having them for whatever retarded reason.

Though it could just be me. Watching Doug Walker in my teenage years may have immunized me against internet film critics not knowing anything about film.

Roger Ebert thumbs down'd Die Hard. Critics savaged Carpenter's The Thing because they were still moist from E.T. and HOW DARE ANYONE REMAKE HOWARD HAWKS. Critics being not just wrong but atrociously wrong is a long, long tradition.

Rich is much closer to Mike than he is to Jay, but what Rich really is, is the Gen X Normie Barometer. Aliens is better than Alien; Ghostbusters was brilliant lightning in a bottle; Wrath of Khan is Best Trek. These are not really bad takes, but they're also not takes that anyone is going to find scorchingly original or insightful.
