Uh oh:

Seems like Jay liked it not unless this is part of some kind of trolling project of theirs.

I'm going to call it: if they genuinely liked it or thought it was "pretty good and the popcorn munching audience just wants more of the same" they are 100% being contrarian to spite people.

I like how they make fun of geek culture yet they applaud movies for basically this

Basically this:

Not unless this is some 4D chess game and Jay wanted to farm flaming comments I genuinely can't understand why he liked it other than just being contrarian.
"IT TOOK RISKS!"

Literally just that probably or a pretentious rant about how it's about the characters even though the casts consists of idiots and Incel man

I think they'll just blame the audience like Alien Covenant (which I liked). I legit did not understand why Covenant was hated so much and their main argument was the the popcorn munching audience demanded the Alien come back and there's no other stories to tell (wrong) and that's why the movie is bad

"Well, everyone wanted Myers back and here you go fuckers!"

"Bold experimental schlock! I liked it Jay!"

"Yeah, compared to those Rob Zombie movies it was something different and I liked that!"

"AAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDSSSSSS!"

The Halloween Kills video was extremely entertaining, I hope the Ends video lives up to it. I still giggle thinking of "ZESTY POPCORN" every now and then. I don't care about the movie itself.

It's a lot easier to enjoy Red Letter Media when you just accept that they have absolute shit takes every now and then and are occasionally a wee bit full of themselves.

But I thought they were my internet best friends. :(

They seem to take it as a personal offense that people think Indy Horror movies are bland as fuck.

It's become a lot more often than "now and then" as of late, it feels.

To the point that I almost think they just do it for hate clicks.

Are people mad again cause the fat shmucks liked a mediocre movie?
The problem is that half the time, they don't even like it, they just sort of shrug their shoulders and go "eh, it's not that bad and I liked this thing in it so it's okay, it's on streaming so might as well check it out!"

People have said it for a while, but streaming has completely ruined them because they just accept any slop now as being acceptable because the barrier to entry is so low. On top of that they seem more concerned with the reviews/comments around these movies than the actual movies themselves.

It makes for super boring content. They used to either really shit on some overproduced cinematic garbage in a funny way or get really into something, usually something older in the early days and more independant/less known in the modern era.

Now it's basically like "Oh, is this thing hated? Is it on streaming? They're going to talk about how it's good enough and probably comment on the comments."

Hope I'm wrong with this but we'll see when it releases.

Yeah I won't be surprised for Halloween Ends they'll mock the comments and talk about how horror fans want the same thing.

I just intensely dislike contrarians. When Mike did it on BoTW or for the Independence Day sequel it was funny but now it's just obnoxious. I understand being burnt out watching every new thing that's out and just wanting to go back and watch old Star Trek and whatever bullshit. Then okay, switch it up. Do some weird sketches. Try something new to shake things up.

In a year or two the RLM guys should have Rich saying "How does it feel to see your favorite franchises including RLM go down in flames?" as they play a montage of them lazily and sloppily glowingly reviewing heaps of trash streaming content and films just to keep the RLM channel and brand from fading. How long until they are basically embracing their position at content reviewers of nothing but pop culture and existing as a serious version of the Nerd Crew? A year? Two tops? Max Landis redemption arc?

They are now getting to the point where they are just churning content out for the sake of doing it. Reviewing the latest trash because it gets them attention from the normies and reddit tier geeks and faggots that watch all of this commercial gutter filth. They will probably always be the darlings of consumer culture because RLM basically consumes and reviews everything. When you review nothing but pop culture dogshit you end up getting a fanbase centered around that content.

Even things like the new Star Wars and Star Trek that they know going into it that they will end up hating it or just dismissing it outright. Yet they still review it and dedicate hours to those things. They are like a softer faggier version of outrage culture at this point. Instead of outrage culture they are like "indifference culture". Where they just pretend to be apathetic to everything that they review and barely take a stance on anything anymore. "Yeah this Star Wars film was mediocre......but we still watched it and talked about it for two hours....and you should watch it too". "Yeah this Halloween movie was not great...but you should sign up for Hulu+ or go to the theater and watch it because you might enjoy it". "Yeah sure the new Predator film was stupid and clumsy but you should definitely watch it anyways".

They, except for Rich, are a bunch of faggots now.
