One of the benefits of having a Patreon is it allows content creators to have more freedom to do what they like without fear of demonetization, but some creators just want ALLLLL the money.

The guys are definitely playing it safer these days, only mocking and insulting where it's clearly safe to do so. Mike wouldn't create a "Science Man" episode these days—too problematic. I doubt they'd even do something as bitingly satirical as Nerd Crew now. I don't know how much of it is fear of demonetization or fear of losing their relationships with celebs; they do love namedropping.

They just lost their edge as they got older. I'll point to the Plinkett review of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull movie that doesn't count. The movie lacks grit and if you couldn't tell by the movie itself, just look at all the behind the scenes footage. The director has settled down, as have most of the creatives involved. They're not looking to push the envelope or offend anyone unnecessarily. Something very similar has happened and will continue to happen to RLM.
