The best way to describe Red Dead Redemption 2's writing direction is it being a romanticized version of the Old West per the creator's vision. There's certainly a clear "slant" in their vision, but that's the least of the game's problems. Subjectively, so to speak.
Its literally an old Western movie that's been turned into a modern video game, complete with hilarious, random kapwing noises out of nowhere in gun fights, and goof ball Klansmen to fight like in Blazing Saddles. If you guys have ever searched them after a fight and read the papers they're carrying around they exist solely as a Mel Brooks punchline.
Trying to make it seem like the Wild West was still around in like the 1920's would just seem weird.
Yeah, because the 1920's and into the early 30's weren't known for their rampant crime and big-time gangs or anything like that. Bank robbers, armored car robbers, bootleggers, train robbers...

But they weren't known for riding around on horses and calling themselves outlaws and it didn't take place in the American west. Most of it was in big cities like New York and Chimpcago.

@Night Crawler That's the thing though, the West had an outburst of banditry (like the rest of the country) in the Great Depression. It's not explored much in media but it's a good bridge between the Old West and Neo-Westerns. I personally would rather have earlier settings too, though. I'd like to have Westerns set in the old old West - between Mississippi River and Appalachian Mountains - but that will never happen.

The bank robbery, train robbery, other type stuff happened in rural America, is the thing. Dillinger and Bonny and Clyde were both rural banditti.

Probably not. I haven't heard of any right leaning people complaining. What would be good is they made the game that way and had some scientist character explain how the prairie niggers really aren't natives and how they immigrated from Asia/Siberia. That would be classic edgy Rockstar.
Yeah, when you're the first person in you're not really an outsider?

PvP (excluding Hardcore) is unbalanced because of tonics and dead eye. You can drink tonics which would give you an advantage (more health, faster dead eye regeneration) against other players. Your purchased weapons carry over into PvP and free roam events. Basically, all you need is a high powered weapon in your arsenal and spam dead eye. It's practically a free aim bot.

Hardcore playlists disables tonics and provides you with a predetermined loadout. Oh, and auto-aim is disabled as well. You'd actually need to have good aim and tactics to compete.

I was JUST talking about how unbalanced free mode events can be because of tonics, dead eye and weapons. At least it's not asking you to WIN. The weapon discounts help. If the (unfinished) story missions are 2XP rewards, maybe I'll replay them for a bit.

Again, I don't want to know. :(
Then why did you ask? Just move on.

But it's not a Western setting. Rockstar already makes games set in modern times with modern crime. It's called the GTA series. Also Mafia has already done early 20'th century crime. RDR set in 1920's style Chicago just wouldn't work. Even if you had it take place in some state in the Southwest US. It would be a shit show. The only option they have is to go back further into the Wild West timeline. Maybe get some new characters or use some of the other characters like Landon Ricketts. The Wild West period didn't start till 1865. Just shortly after the civil war.

I disagree. I've seen enough rightoids trying to fuck around with how this shit is taught in schools to know there'd be a good bit of them pissing, and moaning that a game focusing on Natives is gonna make some poor white kid feel bad about what their ancestors hypothetically did even though they're not personally responsible for it, and shouldn't feel any guilt over it.

But this is all beside the point. I want a Native game because it would be a fresh take on the Western that hasn't really been seen yet in vidya. The only game that comes close is the one called This Is My Land, and that one's been abandoned by its devs despite the main story being unfinished, and the game being a buggy mess.
Right leaning people only get involved after left leaning retards start doing stupid shit. If Rockstar could make a game about the prairie niggers and not used to bash white people or do any retarded muh noble savage faggotry that would be fine. But I would rather not risk it. You couldn't even kill the chugs in RDR2. You had to go really far off in the distance and use a sniper rifle to kill them. Rockstars ability to do a RDR3 with prairie niggers and not make it annoying and fill it with faggotry doesn't seem possible. Just give me some more white characters and keep the leftist faggotry to a minimum.

I want them to include Undead Nightmare with RDR1.
The new Korean warnings mentioned zombies so they probably will.

Fucking this.

Anyone who says an RDR game taking place during the 1920s-1930s would just be a Mafia clone deserves to be shot. There is so much untapped potential here it's insane anyone could think otherwise.

Pretty much. Could even set it in the same general area since its not like the Mexican border is all that safe and stable now, never mind the 1920's.

Since stables will be discounted at the end of August, now seems like a great time to invest in another horse. My base Kentucky Saddler is not fast enough to compete in open races.

I definitely want to save for a bounty wagon to make back some money.

I wish R* would add robberies, purchasable properties, and expanded storyline back in Red Dead Online. I see why high level players only play PvP. There's not much to do or spend once you've gotten everything you need/want.

Maybe have Capitale provide discounts for certain properties. It'll give an incentive to actually play the Blood Money opportunities. Oh, and remove the cap of daily challenge streaks.

I got my girl into RDRO before she even played the single player back then, said she wasnt interested at the time, but wanted some multiplayer for us. Months later, and having finally finished the main story herself, we headed back to Online and she kept lamenting over and over just how much single player content would also work in Online but was never implemented

The day Blood Money dropped was such a damn slap to the face for us, man... Cant believe thats how they decided to cap this game, it had so much more potential

You're telling me. All this time and they couldn't finish The Land of Opportunity storyline AND it's double payouts for those missions now?

Talking about payouts:
.25+.32 Gold from one bounty and petting a dog.
.25+.32+.25 Gold from another bounty and two bounty challenges. Two rare alcohol bottles, two cards and one knocked out bitch that called me a heifer.

That's 1.42 Gold from 25 minutes of play with double payouts and challenge streaks, Not bad. And I was invited into a Moonshine shack. Most fun I've had in RDO yet.

I wish they fix the stables. I'm tired of the soft locks.
